Are humanoid enemies in Far Harbor OP?

I still haven't completed the DLC, but I wanted to get people's thoughts on this, so please no spoilers.

That said, I feel like the Trappers and other human enemies are sometimes extremely OP. I have a level 45 character with all damage related perks maxed, yet some humans still take obscene amounts of hits. I downloaded and started using that PTRS Anti-Tank rifle mod by MJP2008, because that weapon in itself is totally OP. Even so, many unarmored enemies will take several depleted uranium rounds to the head and smile back.

I guess that'd be fine, if they didn't likewise spam grenades and do absurd damage themselves with their pipe weapons; I have a fully modded T-60 suit of PA and just one of them can eat through it with a handful of rounds...

This could just be my opinion, but all other enemies seem pretty well-balanced; everything from Mirelurk Queens to other powerful enemies unique to the DLC.

And FYI my load order is extremely light:

*DLCRobot.esm
*DLCworkshop01.esm
*DLCCoast.esm
*AzarPonytailHairstyles.esp
*Pip-Boy Flashlight.esp
*CBBE.esp
*MTM Survival Rebalance - Vanilla.esp
*WM Chinese Assault Rifle - Standalone.esp
*mjp_PTRS41ATR.esp
*FO4LaserBolts.esp

That's just the way the levels system works. If you're fighting high level enemies, they will be tanky. There are mods that remove HP level scaling for the player or NPCs, but the game isn't quite balanced for gameplay without HP scaling.

They don't have Pipe Weapons.

The equipment is much better than the commonwealth stuff.

I know a lot of people are going to claim that is just how it works...

Except that with my level 105 character I pretty much kill stuff very fast....

Cause I seem to understand that I need to use my Consumable Buffs and craft my upgrades...where the vast majority of the complaining player base is still figuring out how to allocate perk points.

If I'm 105 Level....Then that means that the monsters and human NPC's by definition should be high level and thus have high HP...

BUT I still slay them without issue.

Better just upgrade your stuff and stop saying that sports supplements are for drug addicts.

Heck man I run around killing stuff with a sword not Detrinium Rounds from a riffle meant for taking out tanks...which probably isn't balanced to begin with anyway its a player made mod how do you know?

I get that there is a stigma about Fallouts "Drugs" but those are consumables like Skyrims Potions.

You can stack different ones even a few that mix effects and I read often that people don't...like they are afraid of the stigma like its against culture but these are the consumables.

Look there is stuff in this DLC where using a Fatman or Missile Launcher might be the best solution.

Anyway what was your kit, your distribution of perk points....Your character build....Do you use DRUGs...Smoke any joints or chug beer before a fight come on man stop just blaming the game.

Thanks. I didn't realize that only HP scaled. I thought most everything did.

I always regret participating on the forums. I do believe there is a difference between "complaining" and "querying".

Anyway, they do indeed use pipe weapons. I kindly suggest you either go back and play it again, or have a look at their leveled lists.

I used a no mod profile vanilla PC for my first playthrough. Ammo was an issue and I had to resort to Dragons Fang on a few occasions. (I renamed the tooth thing I cant spell). Epic battles where I even got killed once in a while. If that's OP I like it.

Just came back to say that it only seems to be a select few NPCs. Namely, it's the Trappers in the missions to help the Far Harbor locals, like The Mariner and Mitch's uncle. Everyone else goes down pretty fast with a standard combat rifle with 308 ammo and the rifleman perk maxed.

Honestly, fighting the trappers seems rather easy. Same with those freaky red Mirelurks. What's really hard for me to kill are those damned Gulpers. Then again I'm a level 90+ tank using a high powered 117 dps gatling laser with a fully upgraded heavy weapons perk tree. There once was a time when Legendary Glowing Alpha Deathclaws were a 'threat' now even they get mowed down. But those freaking Gulpers are like bullet sponges. I've actually considered using my plasma rifle against them... but I kinda don't want to because that's my fallback weapon for when absolutely everything else fails.

The two times Trappers give me trouble are when 1) a Trapper with a harpoon gun gets the drop on me (without Power Armor) and 2) When quickly targeting one in VATS causes my game to freeze (ongoing vanilla bug).

But yeah, these guys are pretty beefy. Thankfully, nothing the OP Guass Rifle can't handle. Headshot... BOOM! And they call it a stealth weapon.
