noahdvs
The PC players are as bad as the console ones on the FO4 site, mod after mod has people pestering the author to make changes or make something different.Yeah, it's really ignorance that makes console players worse in general. Anyone can be like that. They see themselves as a kind of customer when that's really not how it's supposed to work unless a mod is paid for. RaffTheSweetling
It still all boils down to the fact that there are now thousands of brand-new accounts opened here, by console users (which isn't a problem in and of itself) who are here only to make requests for mods to be streamlined directly to them - as though modding is a service, and not a generous provision we all are incredibly lucky to partake in. This morning I noticed that the Fallout official Facebook page has started showcasing mods which started their life here on the Nexus, and presumably were ported to the Bethesda.net modding portal, and this is what triggered my growing unease into becoming a more tangible, credible concern. The more Bethesda.net promotes Nexus-based mod-authors' work - the more Console users are going to expect things given to them on a silver platter, which is not on. Can I add- console user or PC user - act accordingly and be treated accordingly. But the difference is not so absolutely clear cut, like: "We are better - they are crap". In fact it isn't even close. I engage with many console users on Facebook and the majority are lovely, and respectful, and would be great fun to hang out and game with, while some are jerks. The exact same thing can be said about PC gamers here in our community. Edited May 23, 2016 by RaffTheSweetling
bladexdsl
well tough tits most of the mods on here aren't even going to work on their shitty consoles so they can beg all the want it ain't gonna happen! so they can be content with their crappy cheat mods and nothing else. just ignore, ban or do whatever it takes to make them go back to beth.net. Edited May 23, 2016 by bladexdsl
Deleted3507349User
So far (at least on the mod comments) I've found the users on bethesda.net to be fairly well-mannered...can't say that's always been my experience here. People are people.
Gilibran
It would be easier to open up a new forum for console mod requests and support. It is an overal problem with people simply not reading up on how to mod your game and the simple basics of how moddding works, there's no difference between PC players and consolers in that regard. And you cannot really blame we have come a long way since manually modding Morrowind for hours amd hours to get it to work and the ease of mod managers today. robhartman9
well how hard would it be to copy and paste together a couple of bat files for ammo and crafting supplies and call it the all the stuff you need mod. I have made a couple of mods following tutorials. Nothing I would want to publish but if I had to publish something just to ask a question I could probably turn out some genuine crap just to get the status.I have to admit I'm guilty of pestering mod authors to publish something I want. Kind of glad I did though as it resulted in the author releasing my all time favorite mod.

Thaneize
Like Gilbaran said, it would be more useful to add a section called "Console Mod/port requests" than just forbid them to request something in my opinion. Console Players have a right to experience the glory of modding too. No use for the "PC Masterrace" kindergarten talk. (Btw, Console gaming is much more chilled tbh)The Nexus simply is the by far most successful platform when it comes to modding Bethesda games, if you google "Fallout 4 mods" you get an Ad, then two times nexus, and then Beth.net, so console gamers might do the common people google research and click the first non advertisement link. Also i don't see the problem in "seeing modding as a service" people will ask for mods, modders alone will decide if they deliver. Whining and spamming will be punished as usual and constructive port/new mod requests might actually bring something nice to consolers and PCers as well.Nuff said. All great points, Thaneize. I agree with you and with Gilibran. I think that idea is a lot better than my earlier (admittedly flawed) approach. Also agree about the vitriolic language directed at the console users. It's pretty juvenile, to say the least. I consider myself a console player by origin. Still get somewhat teary-eyed reminiscing about my SNES 4-player Mario Kart and Super Bomberman days. Edited May 23, 2016 by RaffTheSweetling
AceSevenFive
This is a terrible idea that only serves to widen the divide between console and PC gaming. Giving people less privileges based on the device they play video games on sounds like metaphorical racism to me.
