kusan89
Here's a screenshoot of the message error I get. Please help me, I can't play with Project Nevada mod if I don't make it run... http://i753.photobucket.com/albums/xx178/kusan89/NVSE1.jpg Error number is 740 Edited August 2, 2011 by kusan89
Bottletopman
Try disabling administrator rights if you can. If that still doesn't work, right click the whole Fallout: New Vegas folder, then uncheck the read-only box.
nosisab
You are just another victim of the dreaded C:\Program Files (x86) syndrome. The best advice is uninstall it and reinstall in an user created folder. Something like C:\Games should do the trick. From now on avoid installing ANY game in those non blessed Windows specially protected folder (mainly games which relies in plugins/mods/utilities and so on). Ive done it before and iirc you only have to run a repair utility for Steam or maybe it was per game... or both? Anyway dont uninstall Steam and all your games just to change the directory. If you feel like you must reinstall Steam at least backup your \Steam\SteamApps\Common\*Insert Game folder* and just replace the games back after your reinstall. There is a ton of ways to skin this cat but a full uninstall is probably the worst way. If you plan on modding Fallout a lot changing the Steam directory is a must one way or another. My setup is D:\Games\Steam for Steam games and all non-Steam games are installed to D:\Games.
nosisab
D:\Games\Steam for Steam games and all non-Steam games are installed to D:\Games. that was what I meant, the problem is if the games are installed on C:\Program Files (x86)... Steam or otherwise... Edited August 2, 2011 by nosisab
