Dunmer!

On the latest news article about the awsome new screenshot of Skyrim, it became apparent to me that Dunmer seem to the majority favourite race.

They seem to be a bit like Justin Biebers music; everyone I've ever seen hates Justin Bieber, but lurking somewhere are millions of fans with a distinct lack of (in my opinion) musical taste.

So who does actually like Dunmer and why?

Personally I'm not too keen on them, 1, because of the beast folk slavery thing, mind you, that always made for some good role-play on Morrowind, freeing them from the Calderra ebony mines without being spotted. 2, because of their overall mild hostility to non-dark elves, and 3, because of their strange and unsophisticated culture and government.....

But thats all just my opinion, so voice yours, I'd be interested to know what you think. Personally, I'm a Khajiit lover, can't get enough of the Elsweyr lore! And oh yeah. We have moon sugar...

How sad. Now I'm staying up till midnight voicing computer game racism... MUST IMPROVE SOCIAL LIFE.

Well I love Dunmers! Been playing only as a dark elf in Oblivion while I still had no idea mods exist. I don't why actually. I just picked the race because I thought they look cool and they just became my favorite vanilla race in Oblivion.

I do hope that not all dark elves in Skyrim will look like the one in the screenshot. I thought elves don't grow beards. :ermm:

I know but I also never saw bearded elf before. Never.

I take it you've never played Morrowind? :)

Dark Elves are okay, I prefer Bretons, or Nords, as they make better mages and warriors, I don't bother much with the stealth characters. Also I HATE argonians and kajhiit, it says that they are supposed to be intelligent, but all of them seem to be complete idiots. Also I still have the dislike of them from Morrowind because they were inferior to all other races in Morrowind due to the fact that they couldn't wear boots or full helms.

i like playing as dunmer. as far as the vanilla races go they seem to make the best cross class characters (cross-class meaning part stealth & magic or Melee & magic etc). not all dunmer are... um, how did you put it? slave owning, hostile to non-dark elves, or unsophisticated in culture & government. (mind you i'm not sure their culture or government can actually be considered unsophisticated {IMHO}) as many dunmer have left morrowind, for those reasons, more or less.

The only qualm I have with dunmer is: in oblivion it’s damn hard to make a good looking one. more so then the other races. (also IMHO)
