It IS a port. :( FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

Seriously, that is the WORST news I have heard about Skyrim in the last 8 months. Totally awful. Unless they fix it, and work super hard at improving everything for the PC. Moving vegetation, PhysX, DX11 fuctionality... otherwise, I will be very disappointed in the mentality that is Bethesda/consoles.

You do know Oblivion, Fallout 3, and probably Morrowind were all ports as well? Got a thread on it here.

There's nothing awful about it. :P

Well, aside from the fact Skyrim won't look like Witcher 2. xD

So long as the gameplay stays great and open, I won't mind we're getting forced to ingest more DX9 graphics.

I was hoping to justify building a new computer to spend too much money on. :/

Edit: inb4 Witcher 2 used DX9.

Still don't see screenshots that make me drool like Witcher 2 did.

All the footage from the Witcher 2 was from the PC. Bethesda would rather not disappoint the majority of their consumers by playing up the PC version. The PC version WILL look a lot better than the Xbox simply because of the way it's rendered.

Xbox doesn't have hi-res textures, AF or higher than 2x AA. Xbox is incapable of applying AA to alpha layers which results in blocky flickering shadows. The PC version of Skyrim will look phenomenal on high settings. Believe it.

I know it will.

Oblivion looked better, F3 looked better, things just look better on a PC. But I still don't see myself having to get a brand new computer over Skyrim because it demands so much graphically. I'm guessing my lower grade Sager will handle it.

Otherwise, I can finally put that motherboard and tower I've had laying around to use. :D

Don't get me wrong. I love being able to run games on Max settings, and having it *ban me* away... But, game play in a game is really what matters to me. By now of course, something should not look like... Well, Oblivion. Oblivion was great looking for its time, but it's 5 years later. Skyrim will probably be a gorgeous game, which is expected. Knowing that my laptop will run it on Max settings is refreshing. :)

Why are you guys comparing Skyrim with Witcher 2? All the new footage from the characters are stunning... If you think otherwise, then I don't know what your standards are + all of Skyrim's footage has been on the xbox 360, and they have said themselves that it'll be a lot better on the PC.

Not them, just me. And it's because they're both RPGs with a reputable past that my standards are a little higher.

They've said a lot of things. They also said a lot of things that didn't happen in Oblivion.

I'm not concerned we won't have better graphics than the 360 version, but I really, really doubt it'll be able to compare itself to other recent games out there on the PC.

I'm also highly doubting they'll be adding polygons to the game for the PC version.

I don't doubt we'll get mods to make it better. In the time it takes to do that, though, I'm going to go ahead and safely say this game will be good because of the gameplay and scope.

I was able to run Oblivion on high setting after over 100 mods on my ATI 4670 1GB, 4GB DDR2 800MHz RAM, 500GB 5400rpm HDD, Intel Core"2 Quad 2.0GHz. Game ran smoothly at all times and rarely crashed.

For Skyrim I'm now using i7 2720 2.20GHz turbo boost to 3.3GHz, 1600MHz 8GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB 7200rpm, ATI 6970 2GB. Now with my much better laptop I'm sure I can run Skyrim easily and Skyrim doesn't look graphic intensive as Witcher 2 anyway.
