From right-clicking the speaker icon in the systray (top-left)...

In Playback devices, there is a properties, and configure. FO3 doesn't have a native stereo mode, AFAIK, so you have to set it for the output device, which is done by removing all but the minimum two speakers, and enabling channel phantoming. I can't say you'll have those same options, as what you need could be in a Creative control panel app, instead.

2/2.1 or Phones option and X-fi CMSS-3D disabled from both card+phones and SVM enabled from card options=stuttering back worse than ever

Edit: X-fi CMSS-3D enabled 50%=no change..just as bad

Edit: With x-fi cmss at 100% surround i can minimize the stuttering..there's no channel phantoming option on current soudmax driver panel afaik

I think my main problem is that i have mobo integrated x-fi card and i use USB Phones which is whole another sound devide and isnt even regognized by the soundcard..which is weird since they are same manufacturer.

Lets hope someone acquainted with that phone comes with a positive answer. For nor just an explanation about the CMSS slider... it's not a percentage but the balance between the left right distribution, it's normal position is at center (50% to each side).

If putting the driver at 2.1 cause stuttering is just because the sound is now "working" and suffer from the old known issue. So, answering your previous question, yes, you should install k-lite and avoid the native codecs, this should solve or at least reduce to a minimum the stuttering problem.

Had a lot of stuttering on XP and could nail it to codecs. In my experience, they are most likely the only reason for stuttering or at least they are involved.

If this guide wont work:

... try to switch to onboard sound, which sometimes works just great.

Or it also could help to make a new install of the entire os, which should only be done, if you have several reasons to do so. (Lots of junk, very slow system, wrong drivers, just cleaning the whole machine up, etc). In that case, avoid installing as much software as possible, since lots of it brings along tons of codecs.
