Tranquillus
To be fair, you did sound a bit like the BoS version of Megaton Nathan there. I was introduced to the BoS (and the Fallout series) in FO3... but I must say the BoS seems like a much more interesting faction after my introduction to the more morally grey version in NV. Interesting that the Chicago BoS is characterized as post-nuclear Nazis, if the next Fallout title is set in Chicago it'd be so cool if they were the Big Bad in that game. minngarm
This whole mess of confusion with the Brotherhood of Steel and Lyon's groups is getting ridicoulous. Kids, if you're going to post here, atleast try to make it so you only seem halfas stupid as you are. Really, grow up and stop thinking using all caps will get your point across better. It just makes you more the fool. :P The Brotherhood of Steel is not in anyway, shape, or form something worth preserving. It used to be. Back in Fallout, the original, their goal was to preserve technology to save mankind from themselves. An admirable, but futile goal. They even accepted outsiders, in very rare cases. This Brotherhood might've survived, especially when they seemed to have allied themselves with the fledgling NCR and lauched a crusade against the then-evil Super Mutants. Then the Enclave showed up, NCR became corrupt, and everything went to hell. The Brotherhood was forced to fight a losing battle against the far superior Enclave in Fallout 2, a battle, which, while rarely seen, is easily one sided. They enlist your help in stealing vertibird plans from Navarro to try and gain some sort of edge, but this appearently fails considering they are never seen using them. The Brotherhood becomes less and less noble as they start hoarding technology, not for the sake of humanity, but so that they can fulfill their increasing sense of entitlement. Then came the Schism; a group of dissident BoS members, sent out on a mission to Chicago, goes rogue. They become the MidWestern Brotherhood of Steel; a post nuclear Nazi Germany. This new faction survives the war against a supercomputer and accepts new members, swelling in size. They survive for at least a century. Then comes the next split: Lyon's BoS. elder Lyons breaks away from the oppresive and ultimately lethal creed of the Brotherhood and he and his subjects set upon themselves, whether out of idealism or clever thinking(having the good graces of the people of the Capitol Wastes and new members pouring in) to eradicate the nearby mutant threat. This pisses off some of the direhard Codex lovers, who split off from the main group and set up shop at Fort independance, ironically enough. They plan on making the trip back to California, but they don't know exactly what's happening back West. The NCR and Brotherhood, having been snarling and biting at each other's throats for years over the rights of who gets what, go to war. It is bloody. The Brotherhood is overwhelmed by the Republic's sheer numbers and is forced into hiding in small, underground bases. Splintered. These remaining few, unless they go the way of the MidWesterner's or Lyons, will stagnate as inbreeding and/or lack of resources kicks in, and they will die off. They lack the numbers they once had from all the splinter groups and the NCR-BoS War. Nothing the Courier can do will stop them from dying, not while they are so attached to their Code to see that it is killing them.. Veronica was right in her thinking; even MacNamara relized that much. the difference was he didn't have the courage, or belief, to try and stop it. Bottom line: No matter what you do, the original Brotherhood, this includes the Mojave chapter, will die off within a few decades anyways. All you Lyons BoS lovers, don't worry about them, they're sticking around. Same for the MidWesterners. Rant done. :P Now you stop insulting us, whoever you are, got it?Kids... Talkin' ta me, chomes? I am a scientist, just to let you know, and a good one in my branch. 25 years of experience and a rock-solid relationship with my surrounding as a helping fellow teacher.Quite an arrogance for your first post, chomes.Oh, and if you wanna argue, or quarrel, just go ahead and PM me as much as ya like, but leave this thread alone, if your intentions are to insult..Have a nice one... stranger. If you are an educated man, please type like one. Not trying to be an ass here lol, But I loath the bastardization of english weve seen in the last few years. But yea, there are ways the BoS in the west could easily survive and even thrive again. Primarily working with the NCR in a specialists sort of manner. ModelV
But the question isnt if they can do it. Its will they do it? The BoS are way too stubborn and thus will die out from their isolation or be hunted down and killed by the Legion or Mr. House.

But yea, there are ways the BoS in the west could easily survive and even thrive again. Primarily working with the NCR in a specialists sort of manner. That was on purpose, friend.I mean, I know to read, write and speak in several languages and each of them has all the usual variants - formal, friendly, slang, etc. I just wanted to throw an appropriate apple-pie into the man's face, and typing in US slang (at least as I know it) will definitely be a colder shower than trying to dr. Watson around with him, if you know what I mean. I will certainly pay closer attention to what he/she has written, after I stop being a mad-dog about the post. And no, no polite British English in a communication like that - no way. I'll rather sound like a Captain John Silver. And yes, if the NCR had any brains, they'd sign a Treaty of Cooperation or something with the BoS and what happens next - the combined force of BoS's power armor and training and NCR's numbers would make them masters of North America. Am I right?
Shidentora
I help the NCR in the Hoover dam when she orders me to destory the brotherhood but if elder Mcnamara isnt removed u tell him the NCR is looking for them ,then he offer a treaty with the NCR then tell that to the Ncr and the BOS And NCR join together to fight Legion but u do get NCR infamy for joining the fractions..was that was u were asking Yea, that's it, thanks. minngarm
I could honestly see Mr House orchestrating an alliance between the NCR BOS and himself. He has the power, the knowledge, the pre war and post war status to garner sway with both organizations. Enough to be able to entice the brotherhood to come to the table and listen, and hes already got NCR at his doorstep waiting for an alliance, and extra tax income. ModelV
I could honestly see Mr House orchestrating an alliance between the NCR BOS and himself. Enough to be able to entice the brotherhood to come to the table and listen, and hes already got NCR at his doorstep waiting for an alliance, and extra tax income. OMFG!!! Mr. House wants the BoS DEAD!!! GONE FOREVER. The BoS are a big threat to Mr. House not currently but in the future due to their technology hoarding nature its very likely they would try to hoard Mr. House's robots and try to take that laser tower of his just because its high tech. Im sorry minngarm but really just stop talking please. You dont know what your talking about. Oh and if you think my ferocity when talking about the Legion was bad this is the actual Flag i carry so dont start. minngarm
Model, you really need to learn how to talk like an adult, I can see why they are trying to pass laws to make online accounts linked to your real identity now, after talking with you on these posts for a few days I already want to slap some sense into you in person lol. Your rude, ignorant, incapable of accepting even for arguements sake the points and views of others, and act like a spoiled child, apparently if anyone suggests anything remotely different than your own little concepts you have to flip out. As for my point with House, he hates what the BoS have become, not who they are per say. If Veronica is an example of the change to come, he would be far more open to working with them, allbet at arms length. Not everyone is as 2D as you appear to be model. ModelV
And your the one insulting me. Mr. House hates who the BoS are they are stubborn and will never change. What do you think will happen if a treaty is made? The same thing that happened last time once the BoS are sure of their footing and feel that the nation they have sided with has too many toys they will start a war. Like veronica said: "You almost marched the brotherhood to their death and youll do it again tomorrow having learned nothing." If its not in the Codex its not important if it is they have to abide it and the Codex says to attack Mr. House because he has all the good toys. Its simple they are stubborn and narrow minded and Veronica's quest proved they werent going to ever change ever and would just die. They wouldnt listen and wont ever listen.
