KDStudios
My XP machine has IE8, I'll take a look into this for you. This machine (Win 7 64bit) also has IE8 although I don't use it. I am a user of chrome, just so everyone knows :PLots of people replying with IE, I don't want people assuming I am too. Otherwise they'll assume this is an IE related issue. KDStudios
Okay so I went on both computers and did the same things with them.Chrome works fine, just thought I'd point that out Windows XP 32bit Home EditionIE8 Windows 7 64bit UltimateIE8 Okay so first thing I did was log in.I am able to do so without a problem. Compatability mode messes up the screen so I turned it off on both now the site looks normal. The tabs load completely fine, url's are intact and load. I checked out my mods because I know they have comments.I was unable to view any comments on both computers. They just didn't load.I turned on compatability just incase it helped in this case, it did not.It doesn't seem to be the operating system that determines if it works or not.It just doesn't work on IE8 Advertisements loaded fine on XP but failed to load and just produced white boxes on W7 Also the other tabs on file downloads seem to be fine besides a few.Files - Loads normally on bothImage - Tab loads fine, images expand like normalDiscussion - Tab loads fine on both, but cannot comment on them either they cease to loadTags - Seems to load fine, not a big user of though This was with a "vanilla" internet explorer 8I haven't touched nor installed anything else to it. As I'm a user of chrome I suggest to others to at least try it. At least until this is fixed (if at all)I can only assume that it's scripting.I will continue to tap around on it. SydneyB
Does anyone know why the site would work in IE8 on Windows 7 but not Windows XP? I haven't used XP since Vista came out (what, 5 years ago?) and I have no platform that will let me troubleshoot this from an XP/IE8 user's perspective. If anyone on XP and IE8 has got it to work please let us know. I am sorry Dark0ne, I don't know why comments are not working on XP + IE8. I've uploaded a picture here just in case this helps:http://www.dragonagenexus.com/imageshare/image.php?id=12627 As you can see, there are 5 comments but I cannot see any of them. I don't see either the links for adding a comment or go to the forum's thread. I've switched to Mozilla Firefoz and everything works fine ;)

I've tried on three PC ( in multi-boot too) and there is still the same problem with that " Comments " section. I use French versions of these operating systems , and the same problem persist. All my systems are updated . Edited August 25, 2011 by Loukiana
Dark0ne
Ok if it doesn't work in IE8 on windows 7 then I'll look in to uninstalling IE9 and installing IE8 to try and troubleshoot the problem. It's good news it doesn't work on Win7 either as it means I can test it. Just out right now so it'll have to wait..but it's top priorty, dont worry. Dark0ne
Ok, I managed to recreate the problem in IE8, along with the downloading issue, but when I install the developer tools necessary to diagnose the issue it fixes it as well! Hah. This one is going to have to wait until tomorrow I'm afraid.

Dark0ne
Ok I've fixed the comment bug in IE8 (at least I think I have...it works for me!). Really dumb reason why it wasn't working. I hate IE. The "need to login" even though you're logged in issue is because IE8 is caching the "not logged in" page. So if you go to a file without being logged in, try to download it, get the "need to login" page, login, go to download again, you'll see a cache page rather than the proper page. Not sure about a fix for that. You'll find if you go to download another file it'll work fine (because it isn't cached!). It seems to go away after a bit of browsing around. Moral of the story? Always be logged in while browsing the sites! Cannot replicate the in-page pop-up box not working for people. If you're experiencing this issue, which is stopping you from downloading, then get in contact.
