goonrich
I literally just decided to mod fallout 3 at about 10:30 this morning so i'm fairly new at this. I got most of the kinks worked out by 12 but now I'm stuck with red boxes around bullets in vats and certain npcs all the time. I'm also missing models for certain guns. I think it has to do with weapons added from wmk or maybe a compatibility issue between that and eve. If someone could just check it out and maybe give me some suggestions i would really appreciate it. And if anyone has any ideas for other mods that won't have any issues with my load order i'd like to hear em Also note that unchecked files are unused and as far as i know my merged patch from fo3edit shouldn't cause any conflicts. http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m598/goonrich/th_Capture.png
nosisab
Missing textures are almost always result of the meshes and textures files installed in wrong places (or just missing). read carefully the documentation of each mod. Some mods have a /data inside the packed file, these are to be installed directly over the game root folder and not over the original /data (if for any reason you have a /data inside the actual /data, it is this case). Some mods have a proper folder (normally with its name), these are to be unpacked in a temporary folder and from there choose what to install (when mutually exclusive options exist, one and only one must be installed) Most mods are to be installed directly over the /data. These are easily recognized because they have the ESPs and /texture; /meshes and the likes directly seen in the packed file root. Errors in this kind occur as ESPs appearing in the main (root) folder instead inside the /data, same for /textures and alike appearing outside the /data folder. BlackRampage
You should also get the latest version of FoMM. It can be found Here
goonrich
Well I just downloaded it today so I doubt that it's out of date. I looked for obvious things but i had no luck with the folder configuration. I'm gonna try it again after I just delete everything and try again. One more thing: Is there any place where people have there working load orders listed?
nosisab
BOSS, it is a utility to deal with load order automatically. Although they kept the name Best Oblivion... there are versions for Fallout 3 and Fallout NV too. I presume you already have Wrye's bash. Still, the symptoms pointed in the OP aren't those of wrong load order but incorrect mods installation. Edited August 31, 2011 by nosisab
goonrich
Yeah i figured i did something wrong thx for not being to harsh. What's Wrye's bash? I think i remember something like that from oblivion but googling it doesn't come up with anything. I thought Fo3 Edit checked to make sure the load order didn't have any conflicts? MonsterMonkey
It could be due to invalidation issue, In FOMM you 'll find an option named invalidation invalidated.check this.By default the game engine search gamedatas textures, models etc... in .bsa files (ex: fallout meshes.bsa) so by default the files in Data folder in your fo3 directory are "invalidated" by the game engine.the invalidation/invalidated option create a .bsa that tells the game to give priority to files in data folder before the fallout .bsa archives. goonrich
O sorry thanks for telling me I had just assumed I got the most up to date. I did the Archive Invalidated and I'm using archive invalidation invalidated. I think it might have been a fwe issue where i had installed it in the wrong place so I'm checking that now.
