Using mods with no-DVD patch

Instead of using the illegal no-DVD crack, that isn't supported here, you'd have to rip a .iso image of your disc onto your hard drive and use Magic Disk or Daemon Tools to mount the image into a virtual DVD-ROM.

Google should turn up tons of instructions/tutorials regarding this.

If your going to copy the disk, and you have the hard drive space, you might as well make an iso and run it from there. It will be faster access for anything that the game needs to see from the disk and it is cheaper to make an iso than to burn a disk. Less possibility of a bad burn too btw :)

I like to run my Oblivion with a No-dvd patch to protect my original disk from accidental scratches.

When I do this the game runs but none of the mod will be in it even though they are checked in the data files.

Is there a way I can do that?

I'm also using a no-dvd patch, partially for the reason you mention, but mostly because I cannot stand the noise my DVD drive makes when it has a disc in it.

Are you sure you got the right patch? There are different patched .exe's for each patch of Oblivion, make sure yours is for version number you have (should be v1.2.0416 if you've updated) and I believe they change depending on if you have SI, DLC, and/or GOTY editions/addons. Just double check you have the correct one. If it still doesn't work, you might have a bad patch and I would look elsewhere and try again.

Good luck.
