How can you debunk goals made by the protesters themselves?

I don't even know why I am in this anymore. People on this forum have all agreed that banks are one of the biggest causes of the country being f***ed, and when protests happen they are liberal funded union scum. Its really ridiculous.

Also there is a clear list of 22 demands if you would study it a bit more.

22 clear demands. You are obviously familiar with them so please enlighten us. Maybe provide a link?

ONE of the causes, you have said so. But not the only cause.

You are correct, there are multiple things. The big thing which the protest is mainly about is getting money out of politics.

You can read the 22 demands on their facebook, or read them at this link.

Some of the things they say are too liberal even for me, but that is besides the point. The biggest goal of the protests is to get money out of politics, and banks are the biggest cause of money in politics.

For those that don't wanna pour thru the rhetoric, here is the list:

Ending capital punishment

Ending police intimidation

Ending wealth inequality

Ending the modern gilded age

Ending political corruption

Ending joblessness

Ending poverty

Ending health-profiteering

Ending American imperialism

Ending war

Not 22..... Lots of ends there, but, nothing at all on what they have in mind on how to accomplish that. It's easy to demand. it's not so easy to present solutions. So far, all I am seeing is "I want, I want, I want." Like a spoiled child. Some of them I actually agree with, others seem a lot like socialism to me, and still others are just pipe dreams. (ending war, and poverty spring immediately to mind. Ending political corruption is just a non-starter. Never gonna happen.)

And once again, they are trying to get changes made by the people that profit the most from NOT changing any of these things. In the illustrious words of someone whose name I simply can't remember:

This too shall pass. Like kidney stones.

Also to point out the obvious...

The demands are not from everyone. Its just a certain group within the protest.

They are not organized protests, and its just a bunch of random people coming together. The demands of them all may not match completely.

Also kind of a slow response, but something being distributed by the state does not mean the state fully owns it.

Not very often that I post in political topics, but this is a topic that interests me and I'm in support of the protests. Peaceful assembly is a right guaranteed by the First Amendment of the US Constitution, and it makes me feel good that this right is being used to protest against (at least my opinion is) legitimate concerns. Also in my opinion, I'd say something good must come out of a protest someday; if it's not from this one it'll be from others until it is.
