You would find it in the Boston public library on top of a desk by near destroyed terminals. to use it you can play the holotape on your pipboy or any terminal. you can watch the special videos maybe lore friendly videos, look up information like news for anything fallout related or anything, buy some items, and maybe check out pre war companies, like hurbris or what not. i am just saying someone should make a mod of this. radiumskull Posted June 4, 2016 Share Posted June 4, 2016 Reminds me of that old text-only web browser Lynx... Sounds like some heavy coding work to get a web browser shoehorned into the FO4 engine. I don't even know if the FO4 game engine can play videos. Can GTA 5? I haven't played enough of GTA 5 to know if their web content was in-game stuff like GTA 4. twowolves80 Posted June 5, 2016 Share Posted June 5, 2016 Yes, FO4 can play videos--just take the file for the newsreel playing in the pre-war scene, duplicate it how many ever times, and then change those files to dupes of the SPECIAL videos in the splash screen at the intro. It shouldn't be too hard to link the pip-boy's data screen to the monitor for radiant quests for settlements under attack, and you could take a look at how they script the DCR's events timer/trigger so that bits of news would come across the web as the player advanced in level and completed certain quests--could even be maintained by Nat, Piper's sister.
