sorry, why do people insist that FO4 uses FO3 assets?

I thought it used Rage assets

am I missing something here?

is this one of those "physics engine is rage, organization of keywords and frameworks within the API is FO3's still" things?

also, doomguy bobblehead around 4:20, also the game is made by ID

in other words, I'm PRETTY sure Rage has something to do with FO4's engine

Fallout 4 was not made by id. Not sure where you're getting that.

look before you leap, look before you leap, look before you leap

why don't you get a good look out of the sole survivor emerging from the vault there in that link I posted while you're at it

Bethesda has stated Fallout 4 was created using a heavily modified version of the Creation Engine. Bethesda has also stated they ported Skyrim over to see how the game would run on the new engine.

Would you happen to have solid, verifiable fact based source to substantiate your claims? Thank you.

I did not realize that Rage and Fallout 4 were the same game! Oh wait, they're not! Listen buddy, Rage used the id Tech 5 engine and Fallout 4 used the Creation Engine. They are not the same engine. They share zero similarities. Todd Howard himself has stated that Fallout 4 uses a "next-gen" version of the Creation Engine that Skyrim used. Skyrim was the first game to ever use the Creation Engine and Fallout 4 is the second to use it.

So, maybe if anyone should be thinking before they leap it's you.

Deja vu. Three years ago, people arguing that Skyrim was still running on the outdated Gamebryo engine, lol.

People are still demanding a new engine. gonna be lovely when they change it to an unmoddable one ;)

Fallout 3 for the current gen consoles (and PC) was 'rumoured' a time back, and now seems to be on the verge of being announced by Bethesda. Clearly, since FO4 cynically uses the SAME asset designs as Fallout 3, and the same gameplay mechanisms, an updated version of Fallout 3 will be just a TOTAL CONVERSION mod for FO4 (pretty much how NV was a TC mod for FO3).

Anyone looking forward to the 'modernised' FO3? If it re-uses art from FO4 as ruthlessly as I suppose, do people think it will feel too 'familiar'? And will Beth add new story and missions- or is the original base game good enough for a release we'd obviously treat more as another (very large) DLC for FO4 (tho I'm not suggesting it'l be sold this way- it is bound to be stand-alone)?

I hope they'll revoice some of the characters that all shared the SAME voice-actor in the original. Otherwise, I think a pretty much one-for-one port to the new engine/assets could still make for a compelling experience.

InZanity.
