RaffTheSweetling
But mostly I am very angry at why it has been hidden. And no, I don't mean I am angry at ChuckSteel's decision. Not by a mile. I stand by each and every author who did, and those who think they might need to do it. My disappointment at not getting a chance to update to the latest iteration of ChuckSteel's work-in-progress mod, is mild, and trivial, in comparison to the rage I feel towards the catalyst. I'm sure I don't need to say anything about what catalyst that is, because by now we all know what's happened. But I do think it raises, nay, it begs the question when exactly will 'enough' really be 'enough'? So we have Elianora hiding her mods, and that's a huge blow to this community, ChuckSteel hiding ALL his mods, and I am sure there are others who have hidden theirs as well. Will 'enough' ever be 'enough'? Or is this the beginning of the end?
ahnjd
Nuclear option is the only tool modder have really. People want to take them for granted and disrepect their art, why botter with the headache. Yes, the people who respect their art do get the short end of the stick cause of it, however, it is their choice and modders don't have to make mods for the public and I support their choice even if I can't use their mods. Quicker people realize that, quicker they will see they have no say in a mod creation unless they create their own.
jc9542
The reason they are being driven to this is annoying as all get out. It's something Beth and Zenimax could fix with some IP lookup, Steam account linkage, and forum/download/upload privilege revoking. I used to hate how some mod sites were member only and you had to jump through hoops to be able to download, but now I'm starting to be more sympathetic. Wunderbot
While I certainly understand their motivations and believe that it's a mod author's right to do whatever they want with their mod, I do hope that it's not a permanent withdrawal, because the sad truth of that would be that the only people who'd still have access is the people who pirated the mods or support the pirating (and whoever already downloaded it in the past, obviously). tartarsauce2
step 2 of my master plan to force paid modding into existence is complete, destroy the basis of nexusmods superiority over bethesda.net in order to facilitate the moving of everyone to the platformkidding, kidding I haven't done a thing, but it's something to look out forand resist at all costs because you'll have even less than you bargained for Edited June 8, 2016 by tartarsauce2
zanity
The unfortunate 'sensitivity' of certain modders is best IGNORED. No good can come from fretting about it- it is just the quirk of Human nature, especially where 'artists' are involved (remember the bloke who cut off his ear in the name of his art?). These modders will either come around or vanish- and their decision will be remarkably UNINFLUENCED by people who choose to 'cry' on their behalf. Remember, in the short term, Beth will lose- but with mods for forthcoming iDTech based games, Bethesda WINS outright, as these mods will ONLY be hosted on Beth.mod - Nexus is finished as a source for completed mods for future Beth games. Given that we live in the dying days of free and open Bethesda open-world modding, I'd say the best strategy is just to pretend Beth.net (and console modding) doesn't exist, and continue with PC modding as before. Why live with the stress and the pain and the anger- it is not as if Beth/Zenimax cares in the slightest?
Mavkiel
Odd view. If beth gets enough negative press they will be forced to act. If modders all start adding in poison pills, things will come to a head very fast.

If modders all start adding in poison pills, things will come to a head very fast. And My mod is not dead! I'm continuing working on it but not letting the general public have it at the moment. If Beth resolves the issue I'll share them again if they don't I will insure that the only version that will work will be shared on PC ONLY and ONLY on the Nexus!!!!!!! MasterMagnus
You could also try and work together with Beth (who are, yes, a business. and if you insist on feeling this way 'inherently evil'). You all over here on the Nexus could put aside your historic issues, baggage and complaints with Beth and try to reach out and team up no matter how flawed they are and how flawed the potential outcome. You here at the Nexus could show yourselves as the 'Leaders' in this modding community you claim to be, BY LEADING. Looking around here and the way things are going, you might want to 'clean up your own house' before you go preaching to a Corporation how you know better. If you feel being host to these rumblings of let's burn down Beth, or let's poison up all the mods here, is really healthy, (as they say) WELP here you are. chucksteel
I was one of the first to upload my mods for Xbox I was all for console modding and sharing with the understanding that there would be some protection for helping to drive sales of there games. My actions are not to burn down beth or hurt console modding in any way it is to get mod users to pressure beth into holding up there end of the deal. Why would people who feels violated or the violation of a group make any of us want to give free content that only helps the people with the power to fix the issue.
