RaffTheSweetling
I've had my fair share of abrupt CTDs. But for me the worst ones have been sound card-related. (I don't have a sound card btw). Listening to the ambient music tracks in Far Harbor caused a nasty crash that froze up my entire PC. Had to force-shutdown the tower. Yikes. And just now, enjoying Digital Nightmare - Music Overhaul Mod, while building a settlement, in the rain, caused a similar crash, but not a full-PC freeze, yet this time my Wireless Modem thumbdrive was somehow inexplicably upset and completely stopped working as a result, even when I unplugged it and plugged it back it I got an error message saying it was broken. So that of course required another full PC restart. Ouch. This all got me thinking about some of the worst crashes you guys might have had while playing Fallout 4. :)
Bhanqwa
The hardest crash was when my pc's vents started speeding up tremendously, quickly followed by the screen turning khaki-coloured, after which the pc became completely non-responsive to any commands. The worst however was when the game just went into eternal loading mode even after several game/steam exits and retries, the long wait just bites more. Also, sometimes bad drivers for things that seem completely unrelated on the surface to what was going on when the crash happened can be the cause of a crash. WhiskeyRiver2
For me, the "worst" had to be when my old Toshiba gaming laptop wound up bricked. Been six f*#@ing years and I still don't know what the hell happened. Tried installing a mod for Fallout 3, had some in-game glitches, figured I'd come back in the morning and give it another shot - shut down for the night, then next morning the boot sequence went straight to a BSOD. noahdvs
The worst crashes I've gotten were actually from YouTube 60 FPS videos in full screen, Bioshock and Hitman: Absolution. I'd get a BSOD or my computer would just freeze until I forced it off, but I think I've solved most of my driver issues.
Userper
Playing fo4, suddenly my screen freezes, my computer stops responding completely ,and i'm forced to do a hardware reset(power button)When I'm finished rebooting my res was messed up, my drivers all malfunctioning, and my hard drive was going crazy slow. So I opened up my tower, going over every piece of hardware... when I get to my hd, I open the thing up to see that its been warped by heat...It was quite literally red hot... lol needless to say... it was F****d.believe it or not, that wasn't the cause of the issue... The issue was my OS trying to update to windows 10... so yea... F you Microsoft  Edited June 9, 2016 by Userper

Thanks for the info, noahdvs. And you are right, I do have the Realtek integrated driver soundcard. It usually works fine, but it's often when listening to music in-game that I get this sort of crash. TheGadget1945
I just put about 2 hours work into remodelling Abernathy Farm, which is a place I have pretty much neglected so far. Ten individual houses with mostly one settler per house, beds, carpets, lighting, chairs and tables and a front patio area."Ping".When I reboot the game all of it has gone.To hell with them and this damned game for the rest of today. midtek
I almost have no ctds except in the surrounding areas of Goodneighbor. The areas give me ctds like 1-3 per an hour. Some mod is a culprit but couldn't narrow it even after extensive search with fo4edit. It freaks me out.
StarMystyk
The only CTD I've have with FO4 was when a patch was coming through while playing. Got a fullscreen lock up. Nothing a Ctrl-Alt-Del couldn't fix. Other games far too many on my old pc - lock ups, driver not responding, menu CTDs, nothing unusual. Current pc. My video card doesn't like State of Decay YOSE. Driver stops responding all the time and usually need a hard reset to get out of it. That's the only game where that annoyance happens. I don't have another game on CryEngine to see if it's that or just that one game.
