Thread is called "Worst Crash Ever Experienced", and some of you are commenting to let me know you don't get crashes, or just the occasional crash. I think you have missed the point of this thread completely.

I know what you mean but that's my worst ctd experience. 90% of ctds were from Bethesda games and they were accidental. This peculiar symptom gets me. You know how many times PC have to play around Goodneighbor. Less dramatic but the worst happening to me. I can't even find a solution.

Worst crash probably was one without actually crashing. CTDs galore, but this one was about installing a certain mod, which instantly messed up all my other installed mods. Curiously it even messed with Unique player and follower bodies, although it's got nothing to do with textures or meshes. I spent hours deinstalling, at times redownloading and reinstalling all my mods.

My worst crash wasn't FO4, but Skyrim, Windows 7, Dragonborn DLC.

Fast Travel to Solsthiem. Blue screen. Rebooted, reloaded, took the boat and all is well. Reloaded, fast travel and blue screen again. I figured that fast traveling to Solsthiem was out of the question and used the boat.

All of my FO4 crashes are because I am a neophyte modder and fish up regularly

If we are onto worst crashes in any game, I used to use the Trainz simulator a lot. In Trainz you start with a world grid of grey squares and form it into terrain, colour the fields, then build rivers, road houses and rail tracks etc....everything is your own work. It suffered from a glitch where if you shut your PC down too soon after closing your game, the simulator crashed.

This happened to me and all terrain was reset to Zero; totally flat with all texture removed and the tracks underground or hanging in the air, houses sitting on top of roads....

6 months work gone in an instant.

I had many pints and cigarettes that night.

Lucky you if you only got the bluescreen at one instance. Skyrim bluescreened with a vengeance on my rig when it first came out.

I normally never get CTD...

BUT

that all changed to FALLOUT 4. i play the game and alot of the time it will start freezing hagging up i do a quick save so i dont lose my 2 hrs i forgot to save wise. the game does not CTD it freezes my hole DAM computer (happens many times and at the time this was b4 i even started with mods) i am forced to force S/D my computer then boot it up come to find out the quick save i did before i was forced to do this and a save before hand would not work. older save some textures where bland and bugging out and my gun did not show up..

others i get alot around the 1st starting city (i think this WAS a mod relation.. the one that adds insides to houses)

and alot and of others causing Crashing is when i was around a hospital that has a death claw living inside the basement.. O_O

i never was able to find out what was causing that. from what i read it happens ALOT around that area..

@thunderlord - you aren't alone. I've had a bunch of full computer freezes with this game. I'm not a real tech-knowhow kind of gamer either, so this sort of thing scares the crap out of me. I hit the restart button and think to myself "what if all that I know and love has been lost forever". Lol..sob.

@Rattle and Grind - funny you should mention Dragonborn / Solsthiem - because I had one of my worst technical bug-outs on that DLC in that location. I think it was related to certain texture mods or insect mods or something, but all I know is that there were dragonfly swarms around the docks where you first arrive, which were being rendered times-100 or something ridiculous.

The sound of the bugs would overload the sound card, and the volume of insects being drawn would make my GPU lose its crap. I couldn't pin down which mod had caused it, and each time I tested It slowed my game down to a snails crawl, and quickly froze my game, and a few times even my PC. That was a nightmare.

The fallout CK has also frozen my entire PC when trying to leave it open as I wrote a tutorial for others here on the Nexus. Bloody CK, I swear you can't have too many applications going while using it or it slams the CPU like an ultimate fighter on PCP.

My worst crash happened when I encountered the first non hostile NPC in FO4.

I could not tell if he heard me coming because he had his back turn while cooking, As a concerned and polite person I start running around to let him ear my footsteps. Nothing. I jump and shoot bullets in the air. Nothing. I punch him on his back: "Howdy, how 'bout fixing those dem pump over there?"

He did not asked me who I was nor where I was coming from; instant trust and a slight advertisement that me punching him was not ok.

After realizing that Hostile NPC where as one dimensional as the non hostile ones (Call you names and shoot at you from a very far distance), I had a sever Crash.

I was suddenly back on the desktop.

After being unintelligible and flailing my arms in the air for a while, my wife later told me that my computer was fine, but obviously, I was not.

I slept on the couch that night.
