Ghogiel
For me, he has an agenda. Clearly. I don't really listen to the guy on the matter tbh.
marharth
Since this thread is about Global Climate "and some other stuff", I don't feel I am going off topic when I ask the following. Why do so many of the posters on this thread, whether they believe there is a global climate change problem or not, seem to have so little faith in Al Gore? I have seen his name bandied about somewhat unkindly by both sides of the debate, and I am just curious as to why? Just asking....He is a mainstream politician. I don't have much faith in any politician who served in a high position.
Marxist ßastard
population controlWith contraceptives, having children is now a choice. With fulfilling work and the welfare state, it's practical to refuse. That's population control. And it's been working out pretty damn well: Fertility is at or below replacement levels in most industrialized populations. The same will happen elsewhere, country by country, within decades – and to say otherwise is racist paternalism. Wherefore the UN's 2004 population growth estimates: There's an even chance that population will peak at 8 or 9 billion within 50 years, then decline. And even the fastest growth scenario only gets to 10 billion in 50 years, with slower-than-linear growth for decades thereafter.

If there's one way to twist data in other to support some other agenda, it's by letting politicians interfere.
ITOS
Since this thread is about Global Climate "and some other stuff", I don't feel I am going off topic when I ask the following. Why do so many of the posters on this thread, whether they believe there is a global climate change problem or not, seem to have so little faith in Al Gore? I have seen his name bandied about somewhat unkindly by both sides of the debate, and I am just curious as to why? Just asking....Essentially, he makes money from talking about how bad our effect on the climate is but seems to do very little himself to lower his own impact. There's some other stuff as well but this is the basic. EDIT: Huh. Missed page 5. Odd. Edited October 29, 2011 by ITOS
marharth
I also dislike Al Gore for making the term "global warming" popular instead of global climate change.
