I'm running a 5770 Sapphire , and coming up on level 18 , game is running great with the exception of 1 crash that was due to steam , But i have a Cross Fire , so perhaps i will put in a second 5770 just because . Oh ya , almost forgot . I ran into Maique , the fast running Kajit from Anvil , he was way up in the middle of no where in the mountains in Skyrim . Too cool .

Cool, thanks for the lists, always handy. I'll be buying a new PC and it's good to see (for a change) that the video card I chose (Radeon HD6870 1GB) is in the Very High/Extremely High section. My current card (Radeon X1600XT 256MB) is in the Low/Very Low section but I knew that as it's old. My current PC doesn't meet the minimum requirements (but only just). I guess that day was bound to come :( Edited by star-mystyk

Pff I'm running it completly maxed out with one gtx470 without any lag at all, Stays locked at 60fps at any given time :thumbsup: I had to disable sli becuase it wasn't fully supported yet, giving ctd's randomly exiting to desktop. It doesn't crash now. I have played once for nearly 4hours straight, witch is the limit for me without taking a brake.

Specs are in my profile :thumbsup:

I don't get this. It says here and on UESP that an ATI Radeon 4330 can only play on low. I have a 4GB RAM ATI Radeon 4330 and Intel Core 2 Dueo 2.2 Ghz and I run this game on medium to high (textures high, FXAA enabled render distance (objects, grass e.t.c) options all except 2 maxed (light and specular) shadows - medium water - full reflections and I get a decent framerate. (30+FPS).

these should be general guidelines, not set in stone, gt 430 oc'ed (which this guide states as med/low) 9600 BE quad(oc'ed), all settings high, water full on, draw distance maxed for everything (sneak/archer...i need to see things to kill far away) and no fps drops, no crashes either 6+hours straight...even while frapsing, alt tabbing out to run the fraps vid through win movie maker to shrink it, playing the vid to see how it looked before and after, then going back into the game...been the most stable, lean, well put together release i've ever seen from beth. only issue is clunky console port ui :confused:

system tweaks, background process culling, overclocking, etc all can modify pos/neg how it runs. hw tweaking ftw

rest of it, win7 ulti 64, 8gb ram...nvidia's site 'can you run skyrim' even says card at best = low settings. or that could be they just want you to buy the higher priced cards >.>

edit: turned on

bTreesReceiveShadows=1

bDrawLandShadows=1

and still no frame drops, also reset card to stock speeds and didn't seem to make any difference except for microsecond duration stutter on wilderness cell loads...starting to wonder wtf, according to this guide i should have a double hit from low end card and win7 64, and have a fps of a geriatric arthritic snail with high settings, draw distance maxed, max water, and the eyecandy tweaks above.

where did the info for this guide (unofficial) come from? actual testing or guesstimates?

I am playing at max setting with the following specs

- Amd athlon x2 5600+

- 4gig 800 mhz ram

- GTS 250 1gig ram (oc with evga precision as follows) (gpu-750 mhz/shader-1836 mhz/memory 2240 (1120) mhz)

- windows xp 32bit sp3 updated net framwork

- 500 gb hd rated at 7200 rpm

- 32 inch 1080p/120Hz panasonic flat screen Tv (sweet)

Running base game......Runs great and smooth no issues at all...I am not running any mods yet so we will see how things go later when I have some visual mods running and so on...

Wanted to add... I dont use my normal profile on win xp..I have a gaming profile made and set up to load only whats needed to play my games under that profile.This helps my games run so much better...

anyways happy skyriming

hi,

I need some help and advice for what I should upgrade on my pc for running this game on Medium/high settings.

I've just received the game yesterday and installed it, unfortunately my computer even with settings on very low and some tweaks in .ini file doesn't allow me to play it smoothly. I started the game and just stopped playing after 10min because it's really too bad ...

Here's my computer at the moment:

Pentium Dual Core E5200 @ 2.5GHz x2

RAM 2GB

Nvidia Geforce G210

It should meet the minimum requirements but not the recommended though, however it's nearly unplayable.

As I don't have the money to buy a new pc right now, I wish someone could give me some precious advice on what cheap options I have to upgrade my pc and at last could play ( I don't expect to play on very high or ultra / just at least on medium or high )

Upgrade the card or just the RAM or both ?

Thanks a lot!
