Current System:

Win7 64Bit

AMD Phenom II 965 3.4GHz Quad

Geforce GTX 460 2GB VRAM

8GB DDR3 RAM

1920x1080

Ultra settings, 8xAA, 16x AF, FXAA off, everything maxed + initweaks available

fps average around 30-40; in highly particle and lighting intensive environments casual drops below the 25fps border.

lowering AA, AF / enabling FXAA gives an average of 40-50+ fps and no annoying framerate drops at all

I tried it on my older system before, same hardware, only CPU and RAM were upgraded:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 2.4 Ghz

and 4GB DDR2 RAM instead.

CPU seems not such a big a factor, with lower AA/AF settings in standard Ultra settings, same Resolution i got around 20-30 fps. It was still playable if you are not really aiming for supersmooth play only.

Thought I would add... The auto-detect feature just blows. I have a 9 month old PC, with the following specs:

AMD Phenom II x6 1100T BE (OC to 4.4Ghz and liquid cooled)

16GB DDR3 1600Mhz Super-Talent RAM

Raid Striping x3 solid states

3x EVGA Nvidia GTX 570s Super Clocked

And this rig is "detected" as "medium". I turned everything up to ultra and the FPS stays pretty regular at 90-130fps. I can also fraps at over 50fps with everything on ultra so the 570's work great for the game in SLI mode or not with everything jacked up as high as it can go.

The only issue was with tripple buffering, if you do that, the game has a fps drop to down in the less than 1fps (unplayable) range. So if anyone is having issues with the 570 in SLI mode just disable tripple buffering and do not "force" any anti-aliasing or AF... just set the control panel to "Application Controled" or "Enhance Application Settings".

Yday i installed it on a friend's Desktop PC and i can confirm that it works well even with a decent Intel Dual Core cpu.

System:

Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 @ 3.33Ghz 6M L2 Cache

Asus Striker II Formula

4GB RAM DDR2 800Mhz

ATi Sapphire HD6770 Vapor-X 1GB (that was the key upgrade from his old Sparkle 9600GT 1GB)

Easily running settings on High with 1680x1050, FXAA enabled and lots of HD texture mods.

Will it run at all at:

Core 2duo @ 1.83ghz

Nvidia GF8400M gs

4 gig ram ddr2

Win Vista

I haven't played a game since the Morrowind/Oblivion era and I really don't want to upgrade my pc which is working just fine for this game only. Couldn't care less about non TES games but I got hooked since Morrowind;)

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,

I got a lame Core2Duo E6600@3,6Ghz, 4 Gigs of Corsair, and an old and dusty Sapphire HD3870 512Mb. I run everything on high (dx.10 ofc) without AA and 2xAF and get from 40~60 fps with the 4096x4096 texture pack installed. So i don't think the specifications are accurate. I am very pleased that i can play and have quality.

Respect,

A fellow Skyrimer.

If this post shouldn't have been put here I apologize. I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with an Intel 965 chipset running a dual core 1.86 ghz cpu and Windows 7. I am wondering if anyone knows how to get Skyrim running on this cpu? I have installed the Sigma 3.0 driver, and tried to use the Skyrim configurator, and it's very choppy. Thanks for any assistance.
