UI overhaul concepts

I'm making these to give ideas to people with actual modding skills. Don't expect ME to make that UI mod, because I wouldn't even know where to begin if I wanted to make it. If you like what you see, feel free to shamelessly incorporate my ideas into your UI mods. If you end up using some of them, I would greatly appreciate it if you gave me a line in the credits such as "Some ideas taken from Headbomb's UI concepts [http://www.tesnexusforums/... link to this thread]."

Key features

 

*Stack Health/Magicka/Stamina bars, moved to bottom-left corner

*Level progress moved to bottom-left corner, above HMS bars

*Compass moved to bottom-right corner

*LOCATION DISCOVERED moved to bottom-right corner, above compass

*Enemy/Object info moved to bottom, centered

 

I'm not the best with Photoshopping stuff (actually, I use paint), so don't let the lack of transparency in certain places (or the fact that it says "thief" and not "wolf") get in the way of the concept.

Key features

* Tabs moved to the top of the screen to make some room for other stuff

*Added "Magic" (scrolls & soul stones) and "Jewelry" tabs (this way "apparel" isn't cluttered with rings and amulets)

* Paper doll

* Sorting

*Include Armor / Weight / Value in the list for quick overview

* Highlight item show in own "mini window" rather than be the main focus (which is now the paper doll)

**Contains Drop/Equip/Examine/Favorite commands to free up bottom bar

* Armor / Weight / Gold moved to top to free up bottom bar

* Add full HMS information, rather than just health bar. Moved to top-right corner, below Armor/Weight/Gold information, to free up bottom bar.

 

Notes:

*Light gray is supposed to be the lighter-shade of transparency

*Dark gray is supposed to be the darker-shade of transparency

Key features

*Remove stupid left-right scrolling overview, replace with list that gives you the complete overview at one glance

*Add overview list \w progress

*Clicking the skill takes you to the perk tree

*I just notice that I forgot to remove the HMS bars from this one (current HMS is rather useless info when you browse skills). However I can't be arsed to redraw the thing.

Just change the font size a bit for the level up messages(looks small) and that design is a great start. I hate how busy looking the videos are with all that text crap popping up right into your field of vision during a fight. I have no doubt the PC version will be exactly the same UI port.

Personally I'd like to see an UI where everything is faded until you either go into combat or press a toggle-UI button. And if possible, bars that looks more thematic. Like glowing runes that fade when you deplete your HP/Mana/Fatigue, or something like that.

Best would be if the bars only gave you a vague representation of 100/75/50/25 decrements but I guess that would be a lot of work to get it into the game.

Also no exp/skill up bars at all, and the navigation bar either more discrete or also able to toggle on or off.

 

Quick example of what I mean with the bars, the "glow" fading and the runes going bleaker/transparent when you run out of power

@headbomb Not bad.

Just 2 things about the original I didn’t care for was the compass and targeting I rather have it at the bottom. I guess when I first start to play I will run at max res just to shrink the ui more hopefully then the skill progression will not be annoying thats so in your face.
