He simply posted a question in the hopes that some knowledgable person who frequents this thread could help him out. Which, I think, happens to be me in this case. IHRE, yes it does. Every texture needs to have a normal map (add _n to the end of the name) in order to show up correctly and not seem really flat. If you are using the GIMP, there is a Normalmap Filter you can download. It will turn the texture you have made into a normal map and then you just ahev to play with some sliders. Easy as cake. Or pie. Mmmmmmmmm, pie...

Is there a way to determine the height of the land? If so can you script-constrict the mount-steering wheel to always fly above?

Never found a way to determine the height of the land below. Or solid objects ahead, above, etc.

That is the nice thing about the creature standing on the virtual road: when you go down the road and reach the ground, the road goes thru (it is moved by the script: no collision), but the creature remains above the ground due to collision (as any decent creature is supposed to).

The same applies to other directions.

Mage teleportation pads will be the main mode of transportation between the tiers of the city, so IF it is decided that there should be ruin excavation on the ground then some type of teleportation pad or magical gate will be used. Nothing physical, all magical.

On the contrary, Mr. Sparrow! I'd be reluctant to call anything too simple for you.

It's all irrelevant anyway, as the Ruling Body has already concluded that the city mustn't be reachable from the ground. To sugegst that it should be is to contradict the express wishes of the Ruling Body, and thus is effectively treason. And let me warn you here and now, the Dragon City Mod Ruling Body has little patience for traitors.
