Dragon City Mod

Hahah, why thank you, glad you like it ;D. I allready have the animiculi pretty much though up problem is I don't know the first thing about what's important when one's making monsters. Then again modding isn't realy about knowing as much as about resolve - I kind of doubt it that LHamonds knew anything about modding before he started his very first ;D. So yeah. Anyway, I extracted all of my models and textures yesterday imported the ship model into max, added the baloon and started to work on the tiny brick'a'brack, I should be able to post the screens of the finished airship later today when I return from work. I also downloaded the z-brush trial, I kind of though that painting the textures dirrectly on the mesh instead of doing it in photoshop and then painfully trying to adjust it on the mesh is a good idea.

So yeah, no postponing work, id have to do it to put in there anyway. DAMN I wish I could take a vacation long enough to work on this non-stop instead ;D.

Hahah, that would be awesome :D.

Anyway, I'm serriously starting to hate the imported mesh.... It's importing in a very frustrating manner. Each face is a separate object. All faces are sorted and put into different "meshes" of sorts depeding on what used to be their material ID in the original mesh.

So I'm just.. you know welding it together into one big blob of a mesh.

Just to keep you posted on the progress of the flight:

PC flying Dragons:

Working fine. A few things to fix, but nothing serious

NPC flying dragons:

Half done, but with all kinds of problems. From having to re-learn trigonometry to a lot of things the engine does not do the way I expected (actually, the way I hoped it would work).

The most serious issue so far is that large obstacles on the ground bellow, like walls and water, are interfering with the flight. Funny thing is that sometimes they interfere; sometimes they don’t (apparently under the same conditions).

Anyway, some parts are done, but still lots of work to do. (and I am enjoying myself whit this thing)

It looks like they will fly OK at the end, even if with some restrictions.
