JimboUK
Yeah it does tend to be on and off, it's picked up speed now but I'm getting larger number of MySQL errors than usual.
XTR3M368
Sorry! We're pretty overloaded right now with the amazing success and popularity of Skyrim. We're currently handling around 500 requests a second on this server alone, pushing through some 200Mb/sec of bandwidth so things might just be a little slow for a bit. We're constantly monitoring the situation and trying to tweak everything we can out of the servers, so if you're struggling for more than a couple of minutes please come back a little bit later. Thanks for your patience during this exciting time, Dark0ne I was pretty sure that is what was causing it.....the popularity making more than normal clicks. One would have thought that 0ne would have anticipated that. Especially if that 0ne was Dark lol.In all seriousness, I guess this means that we will just have to accept that some of us can't get to content until the site calms down some. I am wondering if this is affecting the ability to upload mods for Skyrim as well? Is there no way to temp enhance the site server to handle the clicks for a while? I have just given up and will check back at the end of the week for mods. I want to play through vanilla first anyway so I can see what I want and don't want. Dark0ne
Right we have done some more tweaks and right now the site is absolutely blazing fast. Let me know what your experience is like from this time on.
MrTastix
For me personally, it's not much better than it was a few days ago. Still getting time-out issues and just generally slow performance from the site. We could all just say it's my connection, but since Skyrim Nexus is the only website that's behaving like this, I'm inclined to disagree.
GrizzlyUK
Right we have done some more tweaks and right now the site is absolutely blazing fast. Let me know what your experience is like from this time on.Visited Skyrim Nexus at 02:50 GMT, for 13 minutes it was working great, fast, responsive etc. Then the slowdowns started, clicking a link would give the "Waiting for www.skyrimnexus.com..." message, when a mod's page eventually loaded if I clicked on any of the tabs (Files, Images, Comments, etc) I'd get a "Content loading" message with a little spinning graphic but the content wouldn't actually load. Tried to go back to the main page and I got a "The connection was reset" message! Left the site for a while, returned at 03:34 GMT, it's still a little slow but pages and content are loading. Managed to download a couple of files during the earlier visit, looks to be a few others I'd like to check out but it's a little hard when the site won't load any of the tabs (Description, Files, Images, etc)!
kitsuneshoujo
It seems like every other time I try to click a link on skyrim nexus the time out appears. I double post on nearly every comment as well.
Michlo
I've definitely been experiencing issues with the Skyrim side since yesterday from over here in Los Angeles. Sometimes the pages will come up after a few tries but right now I just keep getting: The connection was reset These forums are also much slower than usual. Cheers. Dark0ne
The entire network has been down the past few hours due to a massive router failure brought on by traffic + DoS attack. I'll update the news soon.

Pronam
If you're going to make a blog post of the issues, maybe include the traffic numbers. That should give some an idea what you're dealing with on top of a DoS. You took more than 350.000 downloads and at least 1.7Terabyte of traffic just from the downloads (not including images/else) in the past few days :psyduck:. :edit probably far too low on the numbers.edit2: Oblivion 75% steam sale till friday....uh oh .
