jamochawoke
You spend days doing something in a mod... only to realise someone else has already done it! LOL. This time I spent way more time than I should have trying to get a rabbit/hare creature in the game for wolves to chase. Then I realized that Mr_Siika has already done this... after I get it in the game and working. We even both parented it to the rat skeleton to use its animations. I used a freely available mesh online and then highly edited it to my liking and spent hours doing the rigging and making a normal map that makes the hair stand out in-game. I will say though, that my creature looks substantially different and more like a wild hare than his rabbits. At least I tell myself that to comfort myself at night :P. :psyduck: http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/7213/hare.jpg
wetblanket
It's a nice piece of work. Mr Siika's looks like a hare, yours looks like a rabbit (heads that is, the bodies and legs of both models are off somewhat). Now if only someone could work up a nice rabbit/hare animation... Until then, no-ones models are going to look just right.

I even rigged the ears so they flop around (the rat's ears actually move but you don't ever really notice it because they're so small)!!!!! jamochawoke
I also have a crocodile, a wereboar, a harpy, and a winged twilight in the works in case anyone is interested in what I've been doing lately :P. I actually went through and made my own custom spider animations for the spider creature I have (the result is actually pretty horrifying)... and making custom animations is such a huge PITA. I'll need to make animations for the wnged twilight/harpy and crocodile too :(. Edited November 13, 2011 by jamochawoke
Deleted1848331User
I actually like your rabbit better than his.
David Brasher
I would love to be able to use a Winged Twilight in some of my mods.
jamochawoke
I've already told a few people that when I get the Winged Twilight done I'll release it as a resource for them to use. You're A-OK in my book Mr. Brasher so yeah when they're done feel free :). Right now I'm having a little trouble rigging it to the skeleton (wings are HARD to animate correctly!) and I'm using Morrowind animations as a placeholder until I can make my own, more fluid ones... so they're in a very unreleasable state right now. I may or may not need a texturer for them though. I'm best at retexturing existing content and have not ever done an entire texture UV wrap for a mesh myself before. EDIT;;; I should also add that the winged twilights are an actual race with lipsync animation. I needed them this way for the purposes of my mod (they give several quests). I figured out how to give races their own animations through the playable monsters resource here on the Nexus. It's SOOOOO MUCH FUN! theuseless
looks great. I would use this for sure. Could you make a skinned rabbit mesh too? Maybe a rabbit stew in a pot mesh? I love that you have made another rabbit. Diversity is key. I don't find it funny, I find it great! Keep up the good work.
