JimboUK
It's not been released yet. I'm somewhat confused... I realise the Skyrim construction set hasn't been released yet, but how do people get it right to have all these mods out already then? They're mainly replacers that don't need the construction set, the game loads the assets from the lose file(s) in preference to those in games archive. ginnyfizz
They have even dumbed down chargen for Skyrim- I liked being able, in Oblivion to make detailed facial changes to things like the nose and chin because I play females and, sorry to tell you, but one of the things that distinguishes us gals from the guys (apart from boobies and lack of...ummm...other appendages)is that we mostly have smaller chins and jaws, and mostly smaller noses too. But in Skyrim, we can have dirt and warpaint but we cannot manipulate the facial features. To me that's not acceptable, and roll on a mod to chargen like Dragon Age had. I need that CS to try and hack about at those awful elf faces, and also to add more hair colours if I can, though there are other modders, including Kendo 2, who specialise in that kind of cosmetic mod and would make a better job than me. Why no proper red hair, by the Nine? Do Beth also hate gingers? Of course you can change facial features, just like you could in Oblivion or did I misunderstand your post? I concur that finding something in this horrible UI is quite the work though. *Bows to Emuchan* I do think you slightly misunderstood, but I can see that you and I agree that the UI doesn't help. I was interrupted whilst making my post by the mailman bringing me the Prima game guide and should have said "cannot fully manipulate the facial features". I know you can change facial features in the Skyrim chargen somewhat, but there are some significant sliders that were present in Oblivion, that are not present in Skyrim. For example, you could make very detailed changes to the nose, chin, cheeks and overall face shape in Oblivion. This has been really cut down in Skyrim and I am stuck with a very weirdly wide bridge to my toons nose. Whilst I was waiting for Skyrim to unlock in my country I was talking with a friend on Skype, and looking at the early screens coming in from people who had already unlocked, and we agreed that the noses looked odd. Part of that was the pixellation that modders have already addressed, but the lack of sliders stops me being able to really sculpt the face. By the same token it means I can't make an elf that doesn't look hatchet faced. Hence why I really need the CS and a UI mod!
Vaktus
Indeed, the character customisation in Skyrim has been very dumbed-down since Oblivion, unfortunately. And I'm just stalking these Skyrim forums until the Creation Kit is finally released. :pinch:
Ghogiel
I don't miss the marshmallow oblivion heads. There is a slight feeling of limitation to the chargen though...
ginnyfizz
Vanilla OB heads were awful, but in Skyrim my gal has a nose like a front row forward and I am not keen on that, but cannot change that because of the limited character generation. And although I do like the elves to look different from the humans, and modders have already addressed the Klingon brow ridges on the elven races, I feel that Bethesda have gone too far in making the Elven presets so haggard. But I don't have the appropriate face sliders in chargen to make them look more to my taste.
lonegreywolf20
Looks as though I will be waiting a long time to play the game. I have it installed onto my computer, but am waiting on a number of mods to come out, specifically companion mods.
Vaktus
I doubt the CS will take long to come out, they are only fiddling with final touches to make sure it works perfectly and is as easy as possible to use. I would estimate that it will be released any day now.

Ob screwed them up becuase of the 1 face for all races and sexes. This harks back to roots of DF and MW, Even the armor design. It's like they did it right this time :) The chargen in the CK might be more powerful than the in game one much lke Ob, but I have my doubts about that.... :ohdear:
Roflmahwafflz
Errr back to main topic and what the thread is about, i am personally excited for the soon to come (hopefully) release of the CK i would love to get my own dragon of death going and release it on whiterun. I also think it would be fun to create new shouts (if possible) and create cool looking dragon vs town or dragon vs dragon scenarios. I hope bethesda releases the CK soon anxiety is hurting my head
spinspider
It's disappointing that 1 week later they haven't given us any indication of when they will release it...
