shadowslasher410
...Well, actually, I personally didn't figure it out. That goes to FlyDungas of the Bethesda.Net forums (hey, what do you know, those forums are good for something!). Anyway, If you have a version of 3DSMax already (except possibly 3DSMax 2017, but I don't know for sure, because I have 2016), you can get a copy of 3DSMax 2013 from their website (It's just located in a really obscure hard-to-find place). Just log in to your autodesk account and go here, click Download Links > 3DSMax Products > Autodesk 3DSMax > then find Autodesk 3DSMax 2013. Be warned that it takes a while to download! Collision Mesh, here I come!!!
Trosski
Thanks for this... I had been looking all over their site, and the oldest I was seeing was 2014.
Ethreon
I downloaded that twice. It's still the 30-day one :)
Trosski
Only if you don't have a serial. You can get the free student one pretty easy. If you are in school(even high school), or if you are enrolled in some sort of online learning program like Edx.org. you can get the student version which is a 3 year license. All you have to do after that is go to Here, and get the product key. Edit: So, the above info is incorrect unless you already had a copy of 2013 installed on your computer. Since the release of 2017... 2013 is no longer available as a previous version download. Looks like there is no legitimate way to get a student copy of 2013 anymore. Don't know if they had a student license or "full" though.

stumbleduck
So is 3DSMax 2013 "better" than the updated versions? Or just "more" compatible?
Trosski
2013 is the only version compatible with Bethesda's nif exporter.
