Enclave DLC

I would like to see a DLC for the Enclave. Something with a good story, interesting characters and some worthwhile spoils Nothing which would offend the existing lore, but something that extends the story of Adams AFB survivors or some Chicago migrants or even another west-coast-to-east-coast group of survivors.

But then I would accept any good Faction DLC if it relieved the boredom which is the vanilla game.

Addendum:

There are some committed "The Enclave Is Alive" fans out there and there are some equally committed "The Enclave Is Dead" fans.

Me, I like the word "maybe". "Maybe" leaves the door open for something new and different; something which allows the imagination to be engaged; something which allows new possibilities to be explored or something which permits the player to be something other than a vault inhabitant (five times - Vault Dweller, Chosen One, Lone Wander, Overseer and Sole Survivor) or linked to the Brotherhood of Steel character (twice - Squad Leader and Paladin) or a Courier (the only non-vault non-BoS character in the whole collection).

It would be fun to see something new and different.

Let's put it this way, if the Enclave still existed they would no longer be the force they were before the destruction at Adams AFB(and for those of you that left someone alive...what were you thinking? Kill'em all!) Going off track, if you recall in FO3 when the Institute is mentioned it is stated as being up north somewhere in Canada perhaps...but that's a completely different story and Bethesda can always do what ever they want...even go back to an earlier time in the next game and set it in the Midwest....regardless of what happened in Tactics.

As many posts as I see trying to resurrect the Enclave, you would think the mod section would be filled to the brim with Enclave quest lines. What is the deal? Am I to believe that none of these people are willing to make a DLC sized Enclave story? You could have a team of 40 people by tomorrow. I mean, not me of course. I can only think of one or two viable ways to incorporate them into a current storyline and in general I believe they should stay dead. But nothing is stopping the Enclave loving crowd from Lazarusing the heck out them. While your at it, you can show how they became more technologically advanced than the BOS because they were in league with the Zetans. Wrap the whole thing up in a nice little bow!

I'm inclined to side with the Enclave should stay dead - anything claimed that brought them back as a significant force would struggle to maintain any sort of integrity.

I keep thinking though - originally because of Fawkes, then Marcus & Jacobstown added by the Mod Bad mother and then Strong in Fallout 4 - how much I'd love to see a storyline that causes the Supermutants & Humans to become allies.

It could well be the case that I'm mentally challenged, but most of my favourtite characters are Super Mutants - or more accurately - if there's a Super Mutant character in the game, I'll end up loving him/her.

"Strong Travel with Human?" - I mean, I've got a ridiculous amount of screenshots of Strong Sandboxing on terminals - cracks me up everytime. And from sneaking about in German town police station listening to the conversations the Mutants had before killing them was great - I can't remember what it was - but simple things please simple minds - I'd like to play as a mutant - "Fallout 4.5 - The Chosen Mutant" - or "The Lone Mutant" or "The Mutant Wanderer"

I loved killing the Enclave though - Fallout 3 was my first experience of the Fallout Universe (I've since played a bit of the forrunners and read up on some of the history) - but there's no forgetting the first time I saw them - peering out from a drainpipe at project purity - great stuff.

Edit :- Derp, Just hit me with the mention of Zimmer - Harkness used to be a Courser. I wonder how many Coursers go rogue.

If the man wants to make a mod about the enclave let him make it about the enclave. Honestly I'd have thought more people would be happy that someone was trying to put together a quest mod especially given how few decent quests fallout 4 has.

would be interesting to see the enclave or its remnants become something of a good guy.

I dont remember so much what happened to Eden at the end of fallout 3 (i thought he died maybe?) but it seems like the enclave really has the only "legitimate" right to rule the united states. Legitimate referring to simply any other reason besides "i used force and took it" being the previous rulers and eden possibly being the descendant of the last elected president.

This concept of rulers "legitimacy" has been sorely under used in the fallout universe especially in anything pertaining to the enclave. Perhaps this legitimacy is the only thing that can persuade the warring factions of the wasteland to unite behind some leader.

Or perhaps even a situation where the enclave doesnt actually have the legitimacy it claims and the descendant of the last elected president is some wastelander or something the player ends up finding and protecting from the enclave trying to cover its tracks.

I guess im on both sides of the fence here. I think the Enclave and its assets/look and general concept (far off ancient bad guy coming back to torment the wasteland) has been overused. But I also think a few general story concepts that would revolve around the enclave have been unfortunately ignored and there is alot of potential here.

I can't help but find myself thinking about a DLC where the enclave isnt some super powerful faction but a small group of elite operators hunting down the few remaining descendants of the last elected president in a bid to secure the only thing that makes them any different from the other wasteland factions, legitimacy, and how neat that could be. Im getting some martin and oblivion vibes here.
