thorwahl
I'm really curious how much money this amazingly huge and detailed game cost to make. I've googled like nuts, but i cant find any info about it. Anyone who knows or is it some kind of company secret?

Yeah, games have been listed on IMDB for a little bit now, but I wouldn't have guessed it myself, just found out one day like a year ago.
GoodfellowGoodspring
Never thought a game would cost as much as a movie budget!
JimboUK
The games industry is bigger than the movie industry, they can afford these budgets for big AAA titles. MW3 made $400 million in the first 24 hours.

MW3 made $400 million in the first 24 hours. Whoa, really? Imagine back in 1983 when i was playing my first game on the VIC20 with a buddy that someone had said these kinda games gonna be bigger than the movie industry in a coupla decades - its pretty amazing. Seeing the graphics, the immensity and the immersion of Skyrim, i actually thought the budget was more along the lines of 300 million dollars or more though - the game is almost unbelieveable. I've also been trying to find info about how the objects were made. Look at the head of lettuce for example - did some fella spend a day or more painstakingly creating it in some 3-D program or have they progressed to taking multi angle photographies and having a computer create a 3-D object or something? That head of lettuce looks damn near real, its just a freaking head of lettuce and its in 3-D and you can manipulate it and view it from every angle. More like the former than the latter... but taking multiple pictures to use for textures would be something thy would do, but the mesh is painstakingly made. It's not going to take a day to make.
