Omny Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 I just opened up the Creation Kit today and for some reason, the windows aren't working properly. The windows inside them that lists objects and categories are all squished and narrow, and trying to stretch them or expand them just makes them either disappear or get smaller and unusable. Here is what it looks like when I first boot it up (I've got Fallout 4 and Far Harbor loaded and nothing else) http://i.imgur.com/Y4TtzTU.png Here is what happens when I stretch out the rightmost edge of the Object Window.http://i.imgur.com/67AXHew.png And this is what happens when I try to stretch the leftmost menu window (the one that lists Actors, Items, and other categories).http://i.imgur.com/NaHHTIC.png Similar things occur with other windows, such as the Cell View window and Object View window. Can someone please, please, please help me? I just want to do one tiny edit and this is making the Creation Kit completely useless! It's never done this before.
BlahBlahDEEBlahBlah Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Verified its files through the Bethesda launcher?Could uninstall and reinstall it...it's a quick download of, I think, 158MB?
Omny Posted July 3, 2016 Author Posted July 3, 2016 I tried both of those, reinstalling and verifying the cache both through steam and through the Bethesda launcher. No dice. I don't get it; it's like part of it is "cut off" or something.
Vormina Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Have you tried changing video resolutions? I've had programs act finicky to certain resolutions before.
DocNewcenstein Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 I'm gonna be "that guy" and suggest that it's your video drivers. However, rather than be an idiot who claims the latest drivers are always best, I'm going to suggest rolling back to an older driver that you know worked properly before. Generally if the latest drivers do not directly affect an aspect of the game you're running or specifically address some sort of issue you have right now, you don't need the latest drivers, and very often they break something else, requiring a patch that follows a few days later.

If it was my drivers, wouldn't it be affecting more programs other than the creation kit? Everything else on my computer runs just fine. I'm at the end of my f***ing rope with this stupid program. I just want to make some mods and this stupid program is broken! I can't find anyone else online with the same problem I'm having and it's driving me insane! Isn't there ANYONE who can tell me what the f*** is going on? Edited July 19, 2016 by Omny
Omny Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 (edited) Update: still no progress in trying to fix this, but here's another screenshot of what I'm talking about: http://i.imgur.com/WDPO3WA.png The "Show/Hide" window opens up like that, and I can't resize it. the "Scene Info" screen is also experiencing that weird "cutoff", and all the little windows shrink into nothing when I try to resize the window. The same thing happens with the Cell View window. Edited July 19, 2016 by Omny
SamFisher338 Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 I had a similar problem, I removed extra dlls like reshade and shadowboost and it worked. Not sure which one was causing the issue.
SamFisher338 Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 In the Fallout 4 folder (where Fallout4.exe is located). DLLs like xinput1_3.dll, dxgi.dll, d3d11.dll. See if removing it helps (place it back when you're done using the CK).
