Love her voice and her random blurbs.

Am I the only one that thinks her accent sounds forced? As soon as I heard it I cringed at how bad it sounded. I did warm up to her after a long while and after helping her out with her story but I think the actress doing her voice could have not made it sound so....stereotyped sounding. And for me, her blurbs are only but a few and they are repeated heavily whenever I'm in the general area. She just won't shut up.

I kind of felt the same way about Curie too. I didn't hate either one but I could only take so much.

Cait's accent is going to sound a bit forced because the actress who does her voice isn't actually Irish. But the Irish accent is attractive and it is close enough to do. I love it when she has fits of aggression and shouts "Come on baby show me what you've got !".

The only problem with Curie is that probably due to her Miss Nanny programming she sticks so freaking close that it gets really irritating, same with Codsworth. I have just downloaded the mod which turns Codsworth into a man and I may take him around and see how it goes.

My character will usually stick with the companion they romanced, so I don't know if I have a favorite I like to hang out with per se. Heck, if I just need a pack mule then a robot will do the job if I am hoofing it alone at the time.

The companion I hate the most, with a burning passion, is Strong. He is a dumb, stupid brute who does not like it when you pick a lock, does not like it when you get into power armor, and does not like it when you say something smart in dialogues. For me it is torture to put up with this guy, and the only reason I put myself through it is to check off a box and get his companion perk. Then I leave him at the Castle and everytime I swing by with power armor I have to deal with the pop-up "Strong disliked that" whenever I get out and back into the armor.

Cait's accent is doubly irritating when you think about the impossibility of Irish immigrants in the 23rd Century Commonwealth.

I tend not to travel with companions, but I'm partial to Curie (she's surprisingly effective in combat in synth form). Nick's interactions with the populace are great too.

More likely the accent would be typical Bostonian (pak the cah) rather than a hard Irish.

Actually I feel that both Cait and Curie's accents are both forced, which makes them even harder to be around. I think Beth, has the $$ - they should have invested a bit more for better actors w/real accents.

Wow, I'm glad to see I'm not the only 1 that hates Strong.. Like I stated, I'm not even going to rescue them. They can stay in the tower and wait for Flynn to save them!!

Strong is simply the worst companion ever. Can't use power armor, has like 5 lines of dialogue, dose low damage and hates EVERYTHING! Niki is grate with is tons of unique dialogue sens of hummer particularly in far harbor. Curie is just adorable but laking in dialogue. Preston should have never been a companion.

I actually do like Codsworth a lot, just wish he had his own quest and actually do butler type tasks.

I think it is more likely that some people in 2287 would speak with an Irish accent than that a 210 year old robot with a French accent would have its consciousness poured into the brain dead body of a synthetically grown human and know to fight on the first day.

But maybe I am just cynical.

It's not that I don't like the Irish accent. I think when I first encountered Cait and heard her voice I instantly thought I was going to have to listen to a bunch of cheesy one-liners with a forced accent. I was kind of right. They did throw in a bunch of cheesy lines with a forced accent but I really don't blame the voice actress on that one. That was probably the directing that came from Bethesda when she was reading them. I like to put it in the same category as the voice dialog for the male character not matching up when talking to a vendor as well as the tone of some of his lines sounding wrong. For example, after having helped a settlement and talking to a settler afterward, the line "I'm glad I could help out" sounds more seductive than anything else. Doesn't sound like the way someone would respond after actually helping defend an attack. That's just bad direction.

I wouldn't say impossible. We don't really know about the condition the rest of the world was in for the 200+ years being inside the vault. More generations could have easily migrated to Boston thinking it may not have been as bad here only to find it devastated. Now whether or not the accent would have been as strong is surely debatable.

I like Curie, she's cute, sweet and naive and I love that French accent. She's also the toughest companion, put her in power armour with a decent weapon and she's unstoppable.

I also like Dogmeat. The other day he was being attacked and kicked by 2 raiders, I shot one but the other one kicked him and made him yelp. I unloaded a whole 60 round mag into his face, saying DON'T.....KICK........MY.......F*****G.........DOG.

Hate is such a strong word, but it applies to Strong, I didn't even take him on as a companion, he was so bad.

I tend to use Dogmeat the most, but that's mostly because I don't like to be bothered by the rest of the available companions moral beliefs all the time.

That said, of those I have used (human...ish), I think I like Piper the most. I'm currently running around with MacCready. He has a pretty good story, but overall, I'm a little lukewarm to him. Could be because I still remember that little snot nosed brat from FO3 that I so wanted to pump a few round into, but couldn't.

I've also run around with Nick Valentine a bit, as well as Danse, but not enough to give an honest opinion of them as a whole. One of these days I'll pick up Codsworth and try him out, but for the moment, I'll stick with MacCready...at least until I finish his quest, then it's back to Dogmeat and his unconditional love.
