Build Your Own Stronghold

I loved in Morrowind how you could build your own Stronghold. I know it would be a huge mod but it would be awesome if we could have that option again.

Maybe the whole in sections thing too where you get permission, start one phase, hire guards, maybe even an option to persuade merchants to hawk their wares there, and you could get taxes off of those sales.

Or maybe get a blacksmith or someone else...you know, just throwing out ideas. Also, the chance to choose what kind of style the stronghold would be cool as well, if it was possible. Maybe the architecture?

I like this idea. That was a fun feature of Morrowind.

Maybe you could create a stronghold with a mine and farms.

And you could have a number of soldiers to guard the stronghold, and maybe a few more to take with you as followers.

And some variations of strongholds could include a civilized and prosperous town or a barbarian village.

Yeah that was one of the more "fun" features in Morrowind. You actually felt you had to work for the stronghold and not just buy it.

Could make it so you had to buy some land, and find some ppl to build a small house for you in the start, and then slowly upgrade it to a big house then manor and at last fort/castle.

Or buy one of the many forts around in skyrim, and then have to make it liveable, by rooting out the bandits, forsworn or what ever living there, and then have to find some craftsmen to rebuild the different parts of the fort, like the wall or the prison.

Something like Fort Sungard would be awesome to make your new stronghold, as its big, its in ruin and its already "made" so you just have to rebuild it, but bet im not the only one that think that place would be nice to rebuild.

Or make a "dwemer" kind of house/stronghold build into a mountain that you can upgrade slowly. Think building a new Markarth.

Can always make small quests like you have to root out a nearby mine to provide materials (stones) for the stronghold or hire some guards to keep an area safe, so they can get some wood. Hire caravans to transport materials.

This game definitely needs some proper stronghold. I'd love to build a paladin order stronghold with hireable paladins/clerics and appropriate services. There should be several phases and tasks in order to build the stronghold and all the surrounding buildings.

All of these ideas are awesome, I just wish we could get someone to undertake the task of trying to make this happen.

I especially like the idea of creating your own stronghold and having your own merchants and vendors who you get taxes off of, as well as being able to hire guards you can take with you as followers.

Hells to the yeah.

Like above, I'd really like to see the ability to post guards (maybe even move your housecarls to whatever location you have your stronghold at), and add new areas, or fix them. Perhaps you could go to some billboard somewhere and hire a cleanup crew for a location after "purchasing" the property. It'd be great to have some role play aspect with bandit factions as well. Say, you kill just the leader, well the bandits would then open a dialogue with you...one of them at that is, and you could choose to kill them or claim them (if you're going some kind of bad guy route). At which point you lay claim to whatever the master room of the fortress was and have some kind of vendor there that allowed you to purchase some different things for the room. Same goes for the rogue mages that you find. Or vampires....wish we could say the same for rogue groups of a werewolves...

Anyway. That's just my two cents.
