  1. Try put the language to english instead of german ;) Its up in the right corner... wait ill do it for you... here is the link https://secure.avaaz.org/en/eu_save_the_internet_spread/?slideshow
  2. There suppose to be a portal in the hall? :S Thought it just was Karliah that was bugged:(
  3. Well currently its ILLEGAL to print a kids drawing of Mickey Mouse on a cake in the states... Do you really think its legal to make a Mickey Mouse Mod for Skyrim? With SOPA they will be able to shut down any user submitted drawings of Mickey Mouse if they want! Thats the reality...
  4. A view on SOPA/PIPA from TED. http://www.ted.com/talks/defend_our_freedom_to_share_or_why_sopa_is_a_bad_idea.html
  5. So the bill wont shut down websites with copyright violations, like AMVs on youtube? You do know you can download the videos, illegal, from Youtube by using different tools, aswell? It wont force companies like PayPal to stop transactions to websites that have copyright violations on the site or is linking to sites that violate a copyright? Or in Wikileak's case, because it might hurt the interest of the country on a political level... Or block a site like Nexus that deal in mods, where a lot are based on copyrights? It wont force seach engines like Google or Yahoo remove sites that have copyright violations on the site?
  6. But wont this not also effect chat programs using the internet aswell, as stuff like Steam, MSN, Skype and IIRC are part of the internet aswell? If i post a link with a copyright violation like that vid, my internet connection should be block/shut down aswell. Or if there is a main server handling the trafic it should be shut down or blocked.
  7. This is a violation of several copyrights and will get Youtube blocked under SOPA. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEkTnn7fqrA&feature=g-vrec&context=G2306263RVAAAAAAAACA Is that the internet you want?
  8. SOPA = any site that remotely may violate a copyright, picture, movie, music, you name it, will be taken down, if taken to court. There dont need to be overwhelming evidence on this matter, nor will the site get a warning to remove the copyright violation. That's include the NEXUS sites, as there is a lot of copyright violations, like Star Wars mods, The Witcher mods, Warcraft mods and so on. In order for NEXUS to still be working in the US after SOPA hits, there needs to be someone checking EVERY mod for copyright violations or Nexus will be taken down. Youtube need to do the same, remove ANYTHING that might violate a copyright, like a small kid singing a Lady Gaga song as that is essential a copyright violation or they will be blocked. If you upload a picture you have taken yourself with a camera to Facebook, you will violate the copyright if you upload it to any other site and that site can be blocked, as Facebook owns the picture. Anything you share with someone on a website got the potential to be misused for copyright violations and there for have the potential to get blocked. So yeah this might just an US bill, but it will effect rest of the world. If China made something like SOPA, US and Europe would be the first to call CENSOR!!! SO YEAH YOU SHOULD CARE What i have written ofc are in worst case, but the most cruel things come from the most innocent ideas!
  9. It sadly seems the better tech they are working with the lower quality of the storylines/quests seems to be :( First got on board with TES: Morrowind and it lacked a lot of things, like a compass tho it didnt have to be a GPS tracker like in Skyrim and Oblivion, the quests and storylines was by far better, and bigger, than both Oblivion and Skyrim. But of the 2 options here, Oblivion got the best questlines. Skyrim guilds, simply feel like you join the guild, gets told to do a quest for the guild master, 1 hour later you get back from the quest, "well the old guild master died, and non of us wants to be guild master, so we all voted you should be the new puppet guild master, enjoy!". The Thief Guild was decent tho, but could have been WAY longer, before the story starts to unfold. Rest of the storylines feels rushed :( There is defently something to build on for all of the guilds. In Oblivion the guilds felt more like they had a story they wanted to tell, but when you were done with the quest line that was it. Skyrim its the other way around, no story to tell, but a lot of stuff "radiant quests" to do after the questline was done. I know what i prefer...
  10. The European Parliament overrules a lot of things, but there is already a lot of censoring of the internet going on in Europe, like a file sharing site from Sweden being banned, along with sites that MIGHT contain illegal porn. And unless EU makes some restriction laws, which is really hard on the internet, most countries can do what ever they want, when it comes to controlling the individual country's access to the internet. And if Beth can make a service for mods that works, and can detect conflicting mods, they can later limit other services, like nexus, to be very minor players, with stuff like nude mods. And then they can profit from its. Not today, not tomorrow but in 5-10 years time. Starting with charging for mods on consoles, to test waters, and then later also charge for mods on PC. But as I have stated before non of this is going to effect Skyrim or Nexus the next couple of years.
  11. There is a lot of hostility towards SOPA in Europe, especially in the European parliament. Just because they are hostile now, doesn't mean they will be hostile forever. And there already have been a hearing about restricting the internet in EU, and no they couldnt agree on it. Also a few months back they just extended musicians ownership of they music by 25 years more, so now they own the music for 75 years if it wasn't more. If you think the anti-pirate groups aren't going to lay HEAVY pressure on EU, if USA agree on SOPA, to give them the same rights to block sites they think is a copy write issue, you are a fool. Anti-pirate groups are already harassing music blog, that blogs about new music, couse they upload the music for free. But all of this will first hit us in 5 years time, so fear not for nexus, or skyrim, the next 5 years :)
  12. Actually, if or when USA agree on SOPA, European Union will most likely follow. I know in Denmark we already blocking anything from "supposed" Child Porn sites to Torrent Sites. Atm they are trying to get Grooveshark blocked as well. Hell after that happened in Norway 6 month back, some politicians talked about censoring sites/forums that MIGHT lead to terror. So yeah we can talk all about freedom of speech and that China and Middle East is bad, but in the end the West are awesome at telling people what they shouldn't do while we do the same or worse. Personally I don't see anything going to happen the next few years, but that doesn't mean there wont be huge problems in the future. There is going to be more control with everything on the internet, mods for future TES/Fallout games just being some of them. I'm pretty sure Beth would have wanted to avoid the "nude patch" in Oblivion when nudity in games was the hot topic in USA, even tho they haven't done anything to avoid it later on. Steam works are one way to "avoid" that kind of things as now they can say to all the political correct people, that seems to rule the world, that its not something they support, as all the "Official" mods are on Steam works, while all the "unofficial" mods, like Better Bodies, are on a site like Nexus. They got they back free so to say. And with SOPA to back them up they can shut down a site like Nexus, if Nexus doesn't remove a mod, they rather wants to be Steam Works only, so they can charge for the mod, if its uploaded on both platforms of cause. At least that's my understanding of SOPA.
  13. You cant take money for a "broken" product and as there is a good chance a mod will conflict with another mod they aren't going to charge or they be using more money on finding conflicting mods than they will actually selling the mods. And yes if you are charging ppl for something, you are also entitle to make it work. Before that one is "fixed" steam aren't going to charge for mods. Secondly, Skyrim is a "test game" where Beth are going to try set up a service for mods to work on consoles, and it will be shooting yourself in the foot, taking money for a VERY broken service. So im pretty confident SKYRIM will have free mods. But Skyrim aren't really that interesting when it comes to free mods, they will be free, but what about Fallout 4? TES 6? Or any other game in the future from Beth that will be running on Skyrims engine and be modable? If they can iron out The long term perspective are much more interesting to look at than the short term imo. Especially with SOPA making it possible to CENSOR the internet in USA that could end up making the Steam Works be the only tool to download mods in the future.
  14. In the Nordic mythology there is a guy called Balder, that was said to be the most handsome man in the world, and he was so handsome nothing dared to hurt him. Then he took an arrow to the knee and die. Now no one dares to be handsome. True story. And if you dont believe me look up Balder ;)
  15. The Bible is a great fantasy world. With all the wars, incest, rape, nudity and all the other good stuff that's in the "Holy Book", it could be a great game ;) Just dont think anyone that actually believe everything that's written in that book should make that game.
  16. Yeah that was one of the more "fun" features in Morrowind. You actually felt you had to work for the stronghold and not just buy it. Could make it so you had to buy some land, and find some ppl to build a small house for you in the start, and then slowly upgrade it to a big house then manor and at last fort/castle. Or buy one of the many forts around in skyrim, and then have to make it liveable, by rooting out the bandits, forsworn or what ever living there, and then have to find some craftsmen to rebuild the different parts of the fort, like the wall or the prison. Something like Fort Sungard would be awesome to make your new stronghold, as its big, its in ruin and its already "made" so you just have to rebuild it, but bet im not the only one that think that place would be nice to rebuild. Or make a "dwemer" kind of house/stronghold build into a mountain that you can upgrade slowly. Think building a new Markarth. Can always make small quests like you have to root out a nearby mine to provide materials (stones) for the stronghold or hire some guards to keep an area safe, so they can get some wood. Hire caravans to transport materials.
  17. Here is a dane speaking english http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTozrTpxldM Are you really sure thats better than the current guards? :P But most danes under 30 speaks A LOT better english than that. Sadly i only got a microphone suited for gaming, and dont know anyone that got that kind of equipment, but if some danes, near me ofc, was planing to re-record some of the voices in Skyrim i would gladly help.
  18. Currently I don't see anything wrong with Steam hosting mods for Skyrim. Mods for Skyrim will be free to download, and to some extend easy to implement into the game. But what about future games? That's what i'm more worried about. When they get the different things ironed out, so its easy and almost always work, what then? Basicly they are going to use the next 2-4 years on getting steam the main tool for mods, and when TES 6 comes out what then? You could easily imagine them to charge something like 10 euros to gain access to the mods, if the majority of mods are expected to be on steam.
  19. Only trouble with that analogy is that Steam / DRM / alternate forms of protection don't work in the first place. :whistling: It's a useless token gesture, so yes they might as well just hand out the keys because all they're doing is pissing off legitimate users. Steam does nothing to stop piracy. It's not a solution at all. It's fluff. Keys also not prevent car theft, so why do we have them? If someone wants to steal a car keys aren't needed.
  20. Ofc no kind of pirate protecting would be best, but let me ask you, how many of you let your unlocked car stay in the middle of a big city with the car keys in it? and how many of you do expect the car the still be there when you come back 2 days later? That's basicly what you are asking all the developers to do and ofc that's not going to happen. I see Steam as the best solution, even tho steam got huge flaws, but what are the alternative?
  21. Might and Magic 7, damn I played that a lot. You got your own castle! and had to rebuild it more or less ^^ get help from the dwarfs to make it liveable, and later it got further upgraded when you choose side. That just felt epic back then. But it wasn't the best RPG game, tho I found it awesome at the time. Baldur's Gate 2, now that was a great RPG. You really felt you interacted with the NPCs in that game. Didnt play BG 1 before much later, and never really felt it was as good as BG 2 :( But BG 2 was awesome. Then I got Morrowind and both expansions. It almost had everything I liked from both MM7 and BG 2. Big open world, with lot of quests and stuff to do and interesting NPCs. It even had a stronghold! tho it didn't really feel as awesome as in MM7, because it was so damn hard to get to :( And the more I played it the more I felt like a "god among mere people", which made me feel like I progressed in life. And then I got real internet, with no download limit, and found sites as file planet, tesnexus and other sites with mods. Blew me away completely with all the things you could change. And to this day still does. So a big thanks for the modders for all the awesome mods you have released for Beth's games over the years :D Sadly the interesting NPCs started to disappear in Oblivion :( and almost completely eradicated in Skyrim :( So Morrowind still is my favorite RPG game. Final Fantasy X, Neverwinter Nights 1-2, KOTOR 1-2, Fallout 3, but not New Vegas, are also awesome games. But they dont come close to Morrowind.
  22. I bet you are American :P Here in Europe there is more good looking girls than ugly girls, tho Ireland and Germany drag the average a bit down :P But on a more serious note, yeah its a bit odd there arnt really that much different in at least the body types, like more well fed ppl around the jarls, but the beggars are more starved. Thats normally the real different between a good looking woman and a ugly one. And ofc how she dress.
  23. had the guilds and questlines been better and a lot longer skyrim could have been as good as morrowind. sadly they are horrible written way to short and you don't really get to know the ppl in the guilds or feel part of the group. but the side quests are some of the best across the 3 tes games, which makes a bit up for it. morrowind are still "king" but skyrim come close.
  24. I liked most of the DLCs for FO3, as they all added something to the game world. The different DLCs seemed to be small expansion packs that added to the game world. But the way Bioware make DLCs... Thats just horrible. All those armor/weapon DLCs they made for ME2 should be in the game already. If they wanted to put in more weapons or armor sets, make a DLC with a questline. Could easely have put those 5 weapon/armor DLCs into some of the bigger DLCs, as they are pretty pointless imo. And im not going to buy DLCs like that. And the DLCs they release on day 1... FFS wait a few weeks before they release those. I feel like i get cheated everytime. Tho the Dragon Armor DLC was nice imo, as it was a cross game DLC. So yes to DLCs that add to the game world, and no to horrible armor/weapon DLCs thats doesnt do anything. But dont always agree with the price they are charging. But anyday take expansions like Bloodmoon and shivering isle, over the DLCs that been released.
