KyHawkeye
I'm trying to set up hotkeys for my Skyrim character. I set up groups for SkyIU, but nothing happens. Nothing changes when I hit the key commands. Tried AH Hotkeys, spent some time this afternoon setting up my groups. Same thing. Nothing happens. All I want it to be able to switch between my armor/weapons/spells without having to stop the game for 5-10 minutes at a time. Can anyone recommend a hotkey mod that actually works???? IsharaMeradin
SkyUI works for me. Is your keyboard QWERTY or something different? SKSE looks for the DXScanCode when you press a key and they're in the order of the QWERTY keyboard. If yours is different your DXScanCodes might not match up with your keys. I've never used AH Hotkeys so can't help you there at all.
JWMcQuire
Try this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37006/? I have used this with SkiUI and it has worked fine for me. I haven't played Skyrim in awhile, but if I remember correctly it should do what you need it for. In my experience with my rather weak system, lag plays a small roll in delaying hot key commands. Also, if you have set keybinds to your 10 key pad, you'll want to make sure "Num Lock" is on. Edited August 1, 2016 by JWMcQuire
Xarxee
Is there also a mod that allows mouse buttons to be hotkeyable? I have about 5 buttons on mouse that I can't use while playing Skyrim.

Check your mouse software - and update it if necessary. Edited August 1, 2016 by HalloweenWeed

I just tested both SkyUI and Dual Hand Combo Hotkeys (the mod I linked a above) with my Logitech trackball mouse and both allowed me to map my wheel button(3,) 4, and 5, buttons to slots. So I imagine that both of these mods should map to your mouse keys just fine.
KyHawkeye
It is a standard QWERTY, IshataMeradin. However, this HP laptop is set so I have to hit the combo of FN-F1 to trigger any F1 function. Same for F2-4 and F6-12. I'm wondering of that is the issue, but when I set Group 5 to "Y", that didn't work either. Not sure how I could work around that, or know if it is the problem. My Toshiba Laptop is the same way by default, but I was able to go into the bios at startup and change it so the regular F1 keys would be default. I don't know what model of HP Laptop you have, but on startup you may be be able to enter the bios settings by pressing F10 or Escape. Once in the bios, you can then look for a setting that will allow you to decide what pressing the "FN" key will do. Just change it according to what you want. Another option is to look up your documentation and see if HP includes a program you can run to access the bios. I hope this helps.
KyHawkeye
That did the trick! Transitions are a little slow at times, but that's probably an issue with my laptop's graphics card. Very much appreicate the input!
