Sarathoria
ITT: Female and male chauvinist going at it again. Where did I leave my popcorn? :looks around the room, tossing aside clothes and Dr. Pepper cans: Found it!
likeitsillegal
Estrogen, my bad. Got a little mixed up. But a small mix-up in terminology isn't a reason to just ignore my point. You know picking apart small details and avoiding the actual point is a sign that you can't actually come up with a refuting point? I'm not saying all women did was raise children, but, yeah, it was the main thing. They were the only ones who could breast feed, so, it would make sense that a large part of their biology would be devoted to making that possible. Also, yes, it is true - the Y chromosome HAS been losing genes. Researches say that it could be gone in the next millennia. Seriously, just google it. My post wasn't about men being "superior beings". It was about one fact, that men are built different, and physically ARE stronger, as far as the majority of people. This has been the case for many years. Why you're bringing this "SOCIETY WASNT BUILT PURELY ON MUSCLE" s***, I don't know - because that wasn't what my post was about at all. If you seriously believe that from a physical stand-point, the female body is at the same level as the male body in terms of strength or stature, then you're very misled. vertex23
Women were mentioned in history? Woah...
CloudVvulf
Men don't die in child birth. It's not really the reason, but it would make sense in a medieval/Viking setting.
Aegrus
Hmm .. . I'm pretty sure that Illia (the witch by Riften) is both female and dragon born. I may be wrong, however, as I've never actually met her.
Guest deleted3176977
Oh EVERYBODY knows that the women are back tending the home. It's a miracle one encounters females outside of cities and farms at all. Stop winding everyone up. This is the world and everyone knows it. Robynah
Dragonborn are not made, they are chosen by God (Akatosh). Just like in real life God chooses men. Joseph Smith was a man, so were Mohammed, Jesus, Moses, Ron Hubbard, Zoroaster. This is because God is a creative spirit and creation is Purposeful Action which is masculine. Sperm move, eggs don't; testosterone makes you hit things, estrogen just makes you sit there like a plant. And RPGS are Male too. In real life we have stats that decide how much money (exp) we make in life; these stats are: height (men have more), testosterone (men have more), lean muscle mass (men have more), aggression (men have more) and beching weight. Everyone from highschool knows these stats for themselves except in europe, asia, africa, south america, australia where there aren't any real men. JesterKing
Forget the women dragonborne! We have no transgender dragonborne! or albino! any mute dragonborne!? I demand action! 8p In all seriousness I think Skyrim as a place is more conservative in nature. Thus no female grey beards, (would they still be called GreyBeards if they were women!?) Only male bards etc. Equality is not their first concern. I just keep this in mind when I play. I fill in the blanks. :)
stumpndum
Sorry about the bit of my post you picked out Lechar, least i learned something from it. Second thing i know this post's about female dragonborn but it's kind of evolved, i find this topic kinda interesting, learning more about peoples oppinions, how they see the world its very fun. I actually was talking to my girlfriend about this conversation, well less of a conversation and more of "Goddamnit (Not inserting real name) stumpndum, i don't wanna hear about it, your supposed to be helping me through dark souls!" after 4 minutes of talking. adytum
There's really too many topics beeing discussed simultaneously in this thread. Why should a middle age society be used as a reference point here? Neither political, social or cultural aspects are similar to the game, it only reminds of us the image we have of it on the surface. If anything,I'd say that the gender situation in the game distances Skyrim from that time period, since female warriors are as common as males.
