oh well guess I have to wait until the coders have got their heads out of their asses and started to make some tutorials that are readable

I think when the people who make those kind of tutorials read a comment like that, will be less likely to release them. You should get involved, do some digging or maybe figure it out on your own and be the first to make a tutorial about it.

Problem is I'm an "artist" not a "coder". Different things, the artist shouldn't have to do the coders work...just like the coder should not attempt to draw or model anything. It's frustrating being forced to do it, because coders can't write in a language normal people can understand. How hard can it be for a coder to export a armor from skyrim and upload it in .obj format for artists to use as a reference for their armor making?

I just need the armor then I can start working on the model...but since the "documentation" is so messy I can't do anything. So I'll have to wait a week until that creation kit is released and everything will be much easier.

you don't have to code anything lol. You just have to copy and paste one file into the nifskope folder.

The creation kit is a level editor, and almost certainly will not contain art tools. Like always.

This thread hurts me.

I've got to learn my .nif though... now that I've actually got some experience working with models in Dragon Age, I need to see if I can translate any of it into TES. But, you know, heaven forbid I should have to learn code-y things. I'm just an artist :eyeroll:

Ok I figured it out, I have now a folder on my computer with all models extracted, I can open them all muahaha. I only have one more question, what is the size of textures for armors? I could deal with the format etc later...or other people could be dealing with that since I'm not going to bother with trying to get them inside the game. Hehehe

EDIT: For your information, the armors are about 1400 quads. Which means there is room for a lot of detail :)

for a full outfit minus the helmet, I am using around a 2048*2048 of texture sheet in total. Some times separated onto multiple sheets, but intotal about a 2048*2048. skyrim is a bit less than that on outfits, but the bodies are 2048s. but well I'm not trying to make xbox versions of my outfits so f*** 'em  Edited by Ghogiel
