stogie1991
Ever since the 1.7 patch dropped I've been experiencing utterly atrocious stuttering. In this video the stutter is noticeable, the frame rate remains high yet the game still legs/stutters. It is also much worse on the main menu, even moving the mouse causes stutter and sound distortion. ( I apologies for not muting my show at the beginning, as I normally have something running on my second screen it didn't immediately "click" for me) The day before the update 1.7 and the update a few days ago hit the game was running fine, after the update hit the stuttering returned. My rig is more than capable of running FO4 and hasn't had any issues doing so since release. No settings or mods where changed between logging off before the update and coming back after. Everything is up to date driver wise and I did a full malware/antivirus scan just to rule it out. Now the only solution I've found so far is to do a complete, fresh reinstall of Fallout. BUT. I would really rather not have to resort to a 30 gig reinstall every time a new patch hits. So has anyone experienced this before and if so do you have any tips to get the game working again? A few more things I probably should add. PC temps are well within their limits, I haven't ever gotten round to using FOSE and fallout is installed to a SSD. Jinxxed0
Same here. mainly ever since 1.7.10 Building is laggy, crafting is laggy. Random stuttering. Had zero problems with 1.7.9 and back. Running batch files just causes the game to freeze now when it didn't before. Whatever this update did, it made the game barely playable.
ClayboTGW
I was having those issues with 1.7 and up but I tracked down to two issues one was a mod patch that didn't play nice with 1.7 and the other was and ini setting which used harddrive caching after correcting those two issues the game runs very smooth again except for the usual quest item spawn stutter like when tracking Kellog and his beer bottles and ciggies are spawned into the world. Can you explain what ini setting you fixed.

stogie1991
Doing a fresh install. Left it to run while I was out for the night and of course it stops downloading at 24%. I HATE Sky internet sometimes.
Perraine
I think bugthesda are "trying" to improve the random freezes (while the game loads a new tileset, if going from "wasteland to downtown for instance) and looooooooooooooooong load times by "streaming" the files in smaller chunks. On my cabbage of a computer, the HDD is pretty much now being hammered continuously, i get fewer total freezes, however I am getting quite heavy stuttering in transition zones. Maybe this new 1.7.12 650Mb update that dropped last night (12th Aug) will resolve it?
Battousai124
It resolves every issue i ever had with Fallout 4.:)I can't play anymore at all and even when starting the game with just the Fallout4.esm loaded i get infinite loading screen on "New Game", so I have no issue besides this one^^
cossayos
Maybe this new 1.7.12 650Mb update that dropped last night (12th Aug) will resolve it? Didn't resolve anything I'm aware of. I also have the stuttering issue. That's about the only noteable thing the patch family of 1.7 introduced to my game.
Timmiii
1.7 is a disaster for mods, it doesn't play nice with plugins.I am staying with 1.6.9 until bugthesda gets it ironed out
