Thepal
I've worked out what my first mod will be. I was thinking a player home, but after working through that a bit I realised that furnishing it was important, and that I should give as much freedom as possible. Then I thought that every house will have the same, but would be limited to whatever furniture that modder put in. So here's my plan: A furniture store mod (esm) that can be built off by other modders (creating esps) - assuming the esm/esp thing works pretty much the same as the other games. My main mod would add in the furniture store/s and the NPCs that work in there. I would have the default Skyrim furniture for sale, as well as a few extras I'll model myself (or they would probably be in a seperate esp). They will be able to be placed wherever the player wants them, rotated, etc. I'll put as much scripting on them as I can to make them useful (without being ridiculous). This is where it gets good: Other modders could add their models to the game, and create an esp that adds a chest containing those furniture pieces to the stores and make them "owned" by the store. That should make them automatically be sold by the store. This way we can combine every furniture mod (that the player wants to download) in a single location, and every house mod could utilise the large amounts of furniture that modders create (I could even add an easy "Furniture ordering" item that could be added into the houses themselves for those that don't want to walk to the store). I think this is the best option for furniture and housing modders out there, to give players the freedom and ease of choice that Ikea brings. What are your thoughts? CampanaAliquanta
Yeah, it might be difficult to achieve but it would be great if you could.
KingGsterUK
Yeah great idea. I'm sure other modders would consider using this method if it was available and done well. I also like the idea of encouraging modders to make everything compatible! Good luck ;)
