Function Suggestion

It might be helpful to others but will help me tremendously. I like to track my conversations with it as it takes me directly to MY last post and then I can read all posts from there on. Also I tend to be very explanatory and go into great detail on the topic I'm posting in(I'm sure that if you were to tally a word total statistic, in due time I would be at the top of the list).

Anyways I don't like to repeat myself and tend to link to my previous posts often. Following the link through the "find members post" search gives me a link to copy that takes others to my post and not just the page my post is on. As it stands now it takes 5+ clicks to get where I want to go. With this option in my control panel that would be reduced to 3+ clicks. Not alot I know, but when the server is being taxed those two extra pages loading is somewhat time consuming. Mabye not worth the effort for you but hey, nothing ventured nothing gained.

EDIT:I was just looking over my "all posts by a member" search results page(as i often do) and it occurred to me that it would also be convenient if each of your results told you which post # in that topic it was, along side the current # of posts. Then you could see at a glance if anyone has responded after your post.

Even if you don't fulfill my selfish request.

To quote the legendary Joe Walsh

"...I can't complain, but sometimes I still do. Life's been good to me so far"

As have you,

Thanks for everything Dark0ne

Looking at my member profile (the one on the forum here, not the TES Nexus one), it does bring up my last 5 posts (if you go onto your own profile page, look under the user name in the middle, it should say Topics/Posts/Comments/Friends) Like I said, it only lists the last five topics you started, and the last five topics you posted in.

Ah' that is true enough, but it holds the information on a per session level. Were I to close my browser and reopen it those listings would be empty, so I can't use that info when I first get here.

Hmm, I beg to differ - unless you log out of the forums (I assume you do), then that info is always there. (I've even looked at other members' profiles and that info is still there, so I'm not really sure what could be wrong on your end, Worm. It might be a browser issue, and since I've used both Firefox and IE7 with the forums, I'm guessing it could an Opera issue, even though I've never actually used it with the forums  )

EDIT: I've also found out how to pull up all of my posts and topics since I first joined. It's also on the same page under "Options" (left hand column, second heading). But that only lists all YOUR posts and topics you posted, NOT who posted last in aforementioned topics.

I use FireFox and I am referring to the info in my control panel. If I log out and in again the info is still there, but if I close Firefox and reopen it, Gone!. The info you are referring to is in my member profile as others see it and the only way for me to view it as others do is to find one of my own posts and select view member profile from the drop down menu. Which incidentally is the same place I have to go to view all posts by a member. That in turn would also be conveint if I could veiw my own profile as others do from a button in my control panel.

It would solve everything If I just had the same drop down menu in my control panel as I do In my Posts.

You can view your profile by clicking your name in the top left. This function won't get coded, I rarely dable in forum code because it isn't my own code.

Thank you Dark0ne, that is one of the things I wanted. As for having a button to view all my posts I just figured out a way to do it faster than any code would allow. Since I use FireFox I simply right clicked on the option in the drop down menu of my profile and saved the link as a bookmark. Now I can bring up the search results for all my posts with a single click. Hooray!
