RS13
I would like to see a Fallout based in New Orleans. There is a big opportunity for things like Voodoo magic, Zombies in place of, or along with, Ghouls, partially submerged city (FYI, Parts of NO are already below sea level and are only kept dry by large water pumps) Above ground cemeteries and mausoleums ( the water table is too high to bury them underground) Spooky antebellum mansions, abandoned slave shacks, dark swamps with mutated gators snapping turtles and huge snakes, Pirates, and Cajuns. Cajun food. But would they do it right? I really doubt Bethesda would, and as much as love FNV, I'm not sure that it captured that Vegas feel. Raycheetah
Just read a post on the Obisidian forums with a link to a trademark registration request: https://euipo.europa.eu/eSearch/#details/trademarks/015737133 As to the question of whether it is real or fake: https://twitter.com/LoneVaultWander/status/765509249816342528 MrMatty's video about the rumor: The one thing I noticed about that video is that no one who would ostensibly be involved outright said "This is BS." At 8:23 in the vid, an image is shown of what Obsidian posted on Twitter, a "Magic Eight-Ball" with the words "Very Doubtful." If it was BS, why not completely debunk the rumor? Of course, the next question would be, if Obsidian IS doing Fallout New Orleans, how much of the Fallout 4 game will it contain? Will it include settlement building, expanded crafting, and familiar tech? Or will it be similar (as New Vegas was to FO3), but not the same? Meh, it gives us all something to chatter about, which might be the whole point. =0[.]o=
KiCHo666
If NO really is in developement, I really hope they'll ditch the settlement building and voiced protagonist and focus on RPG elements and dialogue.

Meh, it gives us all something to chatter about, which might be the whole point. =0[.]o= From a financial/business point of view, making another Fallout game relatively shortly after the big hit (allegedly 12 million copies were sold in a day after release) makes sense - they have an engine that they can license to a subcontractor and then they can release the completed game as a sequel to Fallout New Vegas and profit (and corporate management loves profit). Hines also said that they were working on two major projects, but those project were "unlike anything they created before", so this can only mean that a Fallout 4 "sidekick game" (let's call it Fallout NO), if it ever happens, will be developed by a third-party developer. Possible explanations:a) Bethesda decided to register a trademark that they may or may not use (a "just in case" scenario, but why would they do that?);b) the decision on releasing a follow-up game has only been made recently, and potential developers have not been contacted yet;c) a developer is actively working on the game, and they are subject to a non-disclosure agreement. The game is now in alpha/early beta, which justifies filing a trademark application, but Bethesda is not ready to announce the game yet (as Raycheetah said, Obsidian tweeted a image with the words "very doubtful" so it may or may not be Obsidian);d) somebody decided to spend €850-€1050 on a bogus registration attempt (how likely is that?). Ethreon
Seen people spend more money just to pull a prank, specially a large scale one.
LadyMilla
Seen people spend more money just to pull a prank, specially a large scale one. We'll see if and when the application progresses into the opposition period. Pulling a prank on a company that is very trigger happy when it comes to unleashing its legal department can be very expensive.
Ethreon
Hope it bites them in the ass if it's a prank. The "new fallout game rumor" jokes got old a long while ago. Edited August 18, 2016 by Ethreon
jjb54
Actually, I would rather see - California, SAN FRAN or LA. I would even enjoy some where in my home state: Washington, ie: Greater Seattle Area. Plenty of great landscapes, and water to play off of.
