Woooooooohoooooooooo

I managed 2 round up my simple mesh (less polygons)

it say 660 vertex (i gues polygons) co mared 2 my last attempt (8800 ver) its reduced to less than 10% of it [not 2 mention my first attemp, over 400k (LOL)]

Small thing I noticed, is the top part got huge stretches. You should UVW it slightly better.

I know this is nitpicking, but why not? :P

Cheers,

good, but still too highpoly for the game...

See: the female head mesh for example has only 975 verts...

I just made a potion model myself and came up with 72 verts:

Maybe you nn it that low poly but dont bump it up too high... remember its only a little potion bottle and it will never be the main attraction in a closeup shot ;)

So try to reduce even more ob the geometry and get all the detail later wehen it comes to textures and shaders...

Lowering the polycount would be wise, yes. However, it being 800ish polygons is not a problem. It's not like somebody wants to spam 200 bottles at once. I guess.

You know, that reminded me of the good 'ol duplicate trick in Oblivion. 500 swords on my PS3!

The important thing is that you dont need any inside geometry, since Skyrim has no support for any kind of dielectric materlias (yet) its all done with the shader...

I took your mesh as reference and remade it in maya... UVs are layed out clean, you can edit those further as you like...

I disagree. If you property alpha sort it'll work. look at games... oblivion, fallout, skyrim assets, s*** like alchemy apparatus. Has inner faces on transparent jars and bottles etc. Just depends on what you are after, how you sort the alpha and all that jazz.

also bare in mind since the mid range GFX cards since 5 years ago, there is zero difference in drawing 1- 300 tris. and new hardware is beyond that. Obviously there are factors involved beyond poly draw.. but yeah min 300 tri for me. I'd throw 500tris at it and then just walk away...
