Err, I'm having a ton of issues with trying to get my sword in game. I have a fully textured sword in 3dsmax and I exported it. Everything works fine at this point. Now comes the troublesome part. I'll try to be as detailed as possible so maybe someone can help me with what's happening. I downloaded NifSkope and I open the original. (Note: If I use the nif xml by Throttle Kitty, it gives me a ton of errors so I haven't been using it.) I open the nif that was made when I exported my sword. I follow the exact procedure as detailed in the tutorial. I copy over the shader from the original by doing copy branch then I paste it under my sword nif. I change the properties so that is sits under NiTriShape. (Also: In my nif that I made, there's the defualt shader and a blank material. I deleted both.) According to the tutorial, after that all I have to do is save it and play. Well when I save it I get an error "link points to wrong block type". I'm not sure if that actually effects anything or not. Anyhow, if I drop the model and textures in the appropriate folders under my Skyrim directory and play the game, the weapon it was to replace didn't change. It still uses it's defualt model.

I'm at a loss on what to do. This is my first time trying to mod an TES game, so maybe I'm simply missing something. I appreciate any help.

Ok I'll try that. Thank you for the help. Hair splitting frustration is not fun.

Ok yeh I found it by comparing with another nif from bethesda but after dong this also the model still shows up like that transparent blocky triangle ... so id didn't solve it ... any other ideas?

I am still stuck with this , I exported all along the instructions I changed also all the bsdismember , I exported fine and with the settings showed I can load the nif fine , but Id doesn't show up ingame why???
