mkborgelt13
I am surprised I haven't seen anything about Kremvh's Tooth. Whatsup with that thing. Is there some history behind its existence? Besides all the skeletons and flashes, is there a story to be had here?it's just a poorly written in Lovecraft reference... similar to the Dunwich building in FO3. the difference is that the Dunwich building in FO3 was more interesting and had more mystery behind it. (the next part is based off of my speculation into the location) the Dunwich borers was really just a weird sacrificial alter of sorts where the people who died do to improper safety measures were used to give sacrifices to some outer god or something for whatever reason... i really dont get it... seriously though if someone could pump some better lovecraftian stuff into that place that'd be great. One of the writers at Bethesda has a serious thing for Lovecraft stories. They have had references in all of their modern games. First one I noticed was "Hackdirt" in Oblivion, which left me with a similar feeling: What is this weird place? Why does everyone have demented faces? What is undergound? Then I looked it up and was like, 'Oh." It's exactly like that guy in your American Lit class who constantly mentions how he reads Lovecraft and owns the Necronomicon, whom the professor humors out of empathy. I get it, Lovecraft, yeah. All right stop, time to change it up a bit, read some other stuff...

charwo
There is also the problem that Lovecraftian fiction doesn't HAVE to be set in the 1920s but it needs robust civilization to provide the the veil of secrecy and conspiracy that really make it work. Even Conan the Barbarian, which is a part of the Cthulhu Mythos, has more civilization to it than Fallout 4. You'd need several rebuilt towns to have a plausible one with a cadre of witches or wizards or cultists. A rebuilt town in Fallout 4 wouldn't be uncanny, it would be downright creepy, witness Covenant. This is the main reason why Fallout 4 is a turd, there's not enough material in vanilla to work with. Good point, the lack of population in the CW has implications. Seems there are more raider towns than friendly ones, which is a shame since we end up slaughtering the raider towns, depopulating the CW even further. It'd be nice if Nuka World changes how we interact with raiders but... not holding out much hope.
