justwannaddl
Essential characters really are annoying. If I "accidentally" shoot one five times in the face, I expect them to die. That reminds me. It is time to find out how to turn off all essential flags in the game. I feel like going on a rampage now that I have finished everything. abcba12321
I wanted to be able to confront her about the dark brotherhood. I also find it funny she bitches at you and says that she has connections with the thieves guild and dark brotherhood, even if you lead both of them. Or if you wiped one of them out. Ingolenuru
I cannot stand Maven. Fortunately I have chosen to support the stormcloacks so as soon as I have finished the quests Maven is involved in I will be assassinating her forthwith. All of her guards and retainers will perish as well. I might go as far as to wipe out her entire enterprise and leave no trace of her. Her complete disregard for the power of the main character along with her being evil incarnate makes her continued existence offensive and unacceptable. Please someone make a mod to fix this abhorrent state of affairs. Maven needs to be replaceable no matter how much effort is required. It would be truly satisfying however if this could be accomplished by having the TG and/or DB turn on her and do the deed. I would even settle for sending the Thalmor false information on her behalf and letting them deal with her. So many ways to eliminate her. Someone else in her place or having to wait to finish her quests before making the final blow against her do not matter. Just so it can be done. There is no purpose she could serve with later content from Bethesda unless it is where you get to end her villainy with the new content. If this is the case then they need to give us that spoiler now. I agree there NEEDS to be a recognition of character accomplishments past being acknowledged as being dragonborn. Maven and others should be able to tell when they have been removed from power. Especially when you solidify the stormcloak or imperial hold on a city. I think they should have made essential characters immune to dragon attack and players make their own choices after that. Accidental kills of essential characters should have 1 freebee ressurection available as an in game menu option for essential characters. No console or special commands needed. Just a pop asking if you meant to kill a character with quests still attached to it.
Fatalmasterpiece
The entire city of Riften is just silly as if written by a middle school essayist. Every ten seconds someone is reminding you that the thieves guild controls the town. You can't even walk in the gate without someone essentially slapping you on the face saying hey hey thieves guild is over here! Then someone just walks up and asks you to join as I'd it wasnt bad enough. The whole city is a failure of design.
gsmanners
Riften is genius. I really tip my hat to whoever came up with the setup for it. Every decision you make there is a deliciously painful one, and the weaklings in this thread really do out themselves, don't they? As for Maven, yes she is despicable, but that's a generally understood fact of life. Without Maven, the whole town of Riften just becomes a mob of disagreeable misfits who can't accomplish anything. There's a good reason Maven is the way she is, and it has a lot to do with the history of the place. Once again, it's pure genius.
Wursthan
I zealously scan nexusmods every day since the CK came out, hoping that someone has made an 'Up Yours, Maven (and your son)' mod.
RighthandofSithis
Whenever I roleplay an imperial, it always gets to me that she ends up a Jarl. Even though she was in control before, at least having Laila was some sort of consolidation. And when she makes you thane its even worse. All that obvious corruption, and she doesn't even put any significance into making the player a thane. I desperately want to lead the people of Riften in a socialist revolution. That way, I could give her a good beating, redistribute her wealth to the benefit of the people of the Rift, possibly dismantle her house to assist in rebuilding the city and turn the city into a commune (thus putting its industry, including the meadery, under the control of the people). AlluraValiant
I like to complete all the TG quests and win the war for the Imperials then become Thane of Riften then use the set essential cheat on Maven and kill her....I know. nothing changes...but it teaches her to not talk to me like that and makes me feel better.
