Rarely will I agree with Ginny but you kind of missed the point.

The link she had showed some of the real issues with the UI that are not based off of opinions.

Its not the fact that the 3d viewer is there, it is that it takes up too much space when it should not.

*sigh* Opinions, again.

I for one like the UI, par the bug where clicking clicks you out of it. Does that mean I am wrong?

I wouldn't want it any different. I like it. I think it is refreshing and new. HOWEVER, I don't go around and say that. And that is my point.

Saying you like and everybody on the forum hates it, doesn't make it right. I am not religious, yet there are billions of them on earth. Who is right? Nobody cares, actually.

If there it is proven that yeah, this UI is super akward to use, then I'd agree. However, scrolling have never been akward, and the text is still visible for my eyes. Hence, this is opinions, not facts.

The thing with "real issues" is a big opinion, wether you believe it or not. It is not a real issue that the 3d viewer is too big. It is a real issue if the UI is hard on peope with problems in their hand. But that link didn't take that point up, just that "Hey, there is space over here than I want to use!".

I do understand your point, and Ginny's for that matter. However, it is based on opinions and is as the whole topic: Not a good argument for anything. We know people don't like the UI. That is no valid reason to say this game is "crappy". You can, however, say " I think this game is crappy, for me, because of the UI!". The latter means you don't like it, the first means everybody must feel the same.

My only point, to our discussion and the OP:

Don't make arguments on opinions. They are easy to turn on the head, and we all got different one. Make them on facts. We all know too little space is used in the UI, but that is not an argument to call it "bad UI". We all know this game is not flawless, but that is no reason to call it a "bad game". We all know it got bugs, which will be fixed. Can the game suit everybody? No, it can not. Am I glad there is an UI with a 3d viewer, so us 3d artist/none RPers can enjoy the graphics of tings close up while paised? Heck yeah! I don't want an Oblivion 2, or Morrowind 2, I want new. This is new, me like. That doesn't mean I should go around to every "I hate this game and the UI!" topic and scream "I LIKE IT!!", because that would be opinions against opinion. Something that got no base on anything but prefferences per person.

But I see I am repeating myself. I will quietly take my leave, and thoose who want to disagree with me, may do so. We can always agree to disagree.

Cheers,

Matth

What is the logical reason that the 3d viewer should take up so much space? Why does the menu have to start half way down when it can start right at the top? Why does the activate effects have to be so separated? Why cant equipped items be sorted at the top they can be viewed easier? I am stating the reasons why I dislike it. It is not just simple opinion.

There is a huge difference when you have a reason to dislike something, and you are not just shouting that you dislike it.

I have never said the game is crappy or bad. Being critical of its flaws does not mean you hate the game.

People don't want me to leave, I see. Okay, here we go:

What is the logical reason that the 3d viewer should take up so much space?

More space = more viewer. More viewer = more quality we can see of the model. More quality = good for people who cares. I.E 3d artists. I don't see the problem in it.

Why does the menu have to start half way down when it can start right at the top?

So you don't have to throw your eye all over the screen all the times? Because it looks good? I see no problems either. Scrolling have never been hard for me.

Why does the activate effects have to be so separated?

Because this game tries to focus on you exploring, and not thinking about effects and what-not? At least how I see it.

Why cant equipped items be sorted at the top they can be viewed easier

One of the few things I will agree on. Your guess is as good as mine.

I am stating the reasons why I dislike it. It is not just simple opinion.

Which is fine! State the reasons, but DON'T go "I think X game is better because this game got crappy UI". THAT is an opinion. If you say, "I think the UI is bad because X,Y.etc", then you state reasons for your opinion. I can then back my own opinions up with reasons, and we can fight untill TES6 is out. Nobody got anything but opinions.

If you are in a topic discussing the UI, then thoose opinions are awesome! THe more detailed the better. If you are in a topic about the game as a whole, they are worth zip. Your opinions means as little as mine, and we both go opposit ones.

I have never said the game is crappy or bad. Being critical of its flaws does not mean you hate the game.

Think I posted it earlier:

Being critical and pointing out flaws is awesome for everybody!

However, there are 900 topics about it now, and we KNOW. There is NOTHING new here, or the next topic saying the same. After a while it gets annoying with "I HATE SKYRIM!" or "MORROWIND WAS BETTER!" or "THE UI SUCS!" or "X QUEST DOESNT WORK!". We know, bethesda know, we got a buglist.

Instead of getting support, you might end up with haters, or somebody like me.

If somebody like the game or not is none of my bussiness. I don't judge them for either. I like it, my friend don't.

If somebody thinks the UI is bad, I won't say anything either. I understand how a RPer or a gamer in general like it. I, however, like how it is. Does that make me wrong? Hardly.

If somebody want to discuss something said over a million times, I suggest going to a topic having the same topic. There are buglists for bugs, there is a link where a guy tells how the UI should be. What more is there to say?

I apologize again, as I know this is sounding rude. I do not intend it to be like it, but I really want my point to get out. Opinion is the worse kind of argument! Everybody got them, and there is alwasy counter-opinions. They are all based on prefferences.

Cheers,

Matth

Here is the thing. It didn't meet your high expectations, it has issues and the company isn't going the direction you like. Yes mods can solve much of this but lets forget all that.

You have this game...a piece of fantasy that occupied your time for a month. Its like $60 U.S. So you got some entertainment for $2/day. Not bad I say.

Also....if you keep looking at everything in your life like you appear to be looking at this game...finding the faults, being unhappy over things in which you have no control...you are gonna be unhappy a great deal. Why don't you just take it for what its worth? Put your 2 cents in to Bethesda and move on. Enjoy what you can of it and don't focus on all the stuff that you can not force into place.

I am having a hell of a time with the game. Because its a game.

it could be argued that fact can be opinion, because few facts are completely objective or are able to be viewed as such. it's just that perspective seems to dictate what fact actually means. Edited by Invisible Man

QD inventory will sort your items for you, as well as put all equipped items at the top so you don't accidentally sell them. Just thought I'd throw that out there, since a major portion of complaints are related to the new UI implemented into Skyrim.

It is funny how so many people say mods will fix it while virtually no one says Bethesda will. The funny thing about that is there is no CK for modders to fix the pile right now. The increasingly harsh DRM, less than thrilling patches and delays caused by attempts to integrate Steamworks into the CK doesn't help matters either.

The problem is that increasingly harsh DRM and integration of Steam Workshop with the CK is going to put a lot of modders off fixing some of the things that they were planning on fixing.

Lis, I doubt putting 2 cents into Bethesda would do any good. They aren't listening. They delete any complaint threads on their own forums. They are deliberately waffly and obtuse about Steam Workshop integration in the CK. They really don't seem to like PC gamers very much.

Can you tell me what people think will change when steam is integrated in the CK? All these fears look like uninformed hysteria to me.

As far as I know, you can still uploads mods to modsites.

I imagine people are worried that integrating Steamworks will create either a walled off premium area for mods, reduce functionality of the CK, harm independent modding sites or force a vetting system that would arbitrarily reject desirable mods. Without the actual CK to play with for at least another month and after two less than admirable patches, people are getting antsy and irritable. All we can do is hope for the best and go back to Oblivion if they really do muck it up.
