Ravanche
Yeah i have the exact same problem. Coming near the crossing, and CTD every time. And its that way, since nuka world. So i assume its a bug by bethesda. There is a "solution". Open console and enter:setstage DLC01MQ01 2400.That sets the quest to the point you speak to ada. Then move to a safe position (house or settlement) where you can be sure, there will be no fight in the next few minutes. Then open console again and enter:xx00ff12.moveto player (replace xx to the ID automatron has in your installation. For me its 01) The ada will spawn in front of you, and you can talk to her.And this did the trick. I tried this myself before this particular post, but got the quest stage wrong. However, working in IT, it's one thing to find a workaround. It's another entirely to determine the cause of the issue so it either A: doesn't happen again, or B: can be properly reported. So I stripped out Fallout 4 entirely, and reinstalled. However, I did not install Nuka World. No ENBs, no mods, no F4SE, no nothing. Plain Jane vanilla. Fired it up, got out of the Vault, used setlevel to 15, chatted up Codsworth, chatted up Dogmeat, got mission, and I was off to the races (Garvey can just wait). I get to the Turner Bridge Crossing, and save. I go across, and there's Ada holding her ground against an onslaught of bots. No crash, not even so much as a stutter. Then I exited, and updated to Nuka World. Fire up the game, load at just shy of Turner Bridge Crossing, get about halfway across the bridge... and it crashes harder than Windows ME. For completeness' sake, I loaded it up again, and tried approaching from multiple different directions, to eliminate the bridge itself as the culprit (hey, ya never know). No joy. Crash every single time. As far as I'm concerned, it's confirmed: for certain installs, Nuka World utterly breaks Automatron due to being unable to get to the initial area to start the quest without a CTD. So thanks for all the help, and thanks for helping me at least get my playthrough working again. The one thing I am a bit nervous about is what will happen when I wander over that area now that the quest is started. I'm tempted to just write that little area off as a "Here There Be Dragons" type of place you just avoid at all costs.
SMB92
You disabled preculling? What settings you run? Sometimes people forget to up the actual RAM amount in ENBlocal etc. Probably their problem too. I can confirm that I am seeing 5200MB of VRAM and 7900+MB on RAM downtown. I think I set mine to 10240 in ENBlocal (max). @Ravanche. Interesting, I wonder if they bodged precombined system again. Remember reading that on a UFO4P post on Bethnet a while ago. JimmyRJump
The maximum RAM setting for the ENBlocal.ini is 12GB or 12288MB ;)

kohtay
In my game the overalls Zoe wears were modded with Vanilla Outfits for CBBE BodySlide (Kuun's). I changed the overalls to a different mod and it worked. Not sure if it's the mods fault or something I messed up but its not crashing at the battle where you meet Ada for the first time. If anyone wants to check in their game try "player.additem 39a66" and then equip the item called Utility coveralls.

Kuun's Sturges outfit - shirtless, specifically, was the problem. I changed it to the regular outfit and it worked fine.
Cammyoo
'Key Nuker' included in the Boston FPS Fix as well as F04FI fps fix mods is what was causing this crash for me. Removed it and got what I needed done in the area and re-enabled it and all is fine.
