Unless they change it, it is certainly feasible and within their legal rights to do so if you upload to it.

If they do their bound to recieve a lot of flak. sure they can but, it doesn't mean they will.

The first thing is to test the official distribution, it's only later they will lock it down to user account to actual esp files and the only distribution network being steam. It is all about getting mods on the xbox, these are required steps to convince M$ it is controllable and feasible. An option implement the micro transaction model is already inplace with the addition of the workshop. Edited December 2, 2011 by Ghogiel
defunctdiety
Boo, Bethesda! I'm really not feeling like I need mods (like I did with the fallouts), but still this whole thing is crap. Definitely setting things up to profit off of modding.

It's really annoying that we've been conversing across multiple threads about the same thing. :) Theres no problem with uploaders making a little cash, heck some of them deserve that money, other people not so much. Though i love my free mods i wouldn't be entirely opposed to paying for some good ones, but not to a company, only to the developers of the mod. Some modders would be opposed to the whole system and would refuse to upload there. some people still have principles.

Ghogiel
thereisn't going to be a choice in the matter. It's either sign it over more or less to the one controlled distribution channel or nothing. there talk of there going to be a donation button on user profiles on the nexus...
