gofortheko
Not sure how many of you liked Avatar but I liked it a lot, even though it was basically a remake of Pocahontas.
sarnz
How are they going to put bugs and crashes into a movie? That's not how beth rolls.

Lachdonin
I just cant believe people are still using this as a basis for not making a movie. There a million movie storylines you could tell in a movie. The Main Storyline, the Mage guild storyline, the Companions, Dark Brotherhood... you get the idea. You are thinking too much scope, the game is great because of what you can do, but a good writer can translate any of these storylines into a good movie. As i said, you could make a movie based in the TES universe, but you could not make a movie out of a TES game. Which still doesn't address the problem of poor preformance for Fantasy movies. Lord of the Rings is really the only fantasy movie which has done well in over twenty years.
CloudVvulf
TES would probably do better as a TV series rather than a movie.
Chaosrex
Yes a TV serie could be good. The real problem is not really the settings or plotline, its to have the right peoples to work on it. Imagine what would LotR be if they had a completly different cast, directors, etc...,i don't think that would have worked so well. So it's all about to have the right peoples who will do it, and give all they've got to do it.
minngarm
Well I could point out the lack of a unified main character would make people jaded about whomever they picked. The various optional plot paths and which they select for the movie would also do the same. Then I stop and remember; THEY MADE A DUNGEON SIEGE MOVIE. Yup.... Why the hell not, who cares at this point right? Go make one.
Elvenking71
That would be kind of like the egg trying to be the chicken that laid it. LOL
AssyMcGee
Hmm all this negativity towards an Elder Scrolls movie. It could be an interesting idea, so long as the right people are involved. Also the fact that everyone is thinking about the games not having a main character, well that is true. You are in fact the main character. So a movie about the Champion of Cyrodiil, the Nerevarine, or Dragonborn or whatever we may see in the future would be a horrible idea. That however got me thinking. What about a movie about Tiber Septim? Or Alessia and Pelinal Whitestrake? Even Ysgramor and his 500 Companions. There are loads of characters in the lore that have well recorded deeds and a strong base to create a movie from.
Oomo
This game in particular would translate well to a movie, if the plot isnt made PG-13. I think the director of Game of Thrones would be perfect for making a Skyrim movie. Game of Thrones? Nah I'd rather not see Skyrim turned into a softcore porn movie with a bit of story thrown in
