Or are you sure that there is no hope at all? It's a 300 hour game save, so I would like to be 100% sure I can't recover from this. My save game was brought down by save bloat. I had a lot script heavy mods like Frostfall, iNeed, Better Vampires, Moonlight Tales, various follower mods, etc. all jammed into one save game. Pile all of that with constant installing and uninstalling of various other mods I was curious about and you end up with a save file packed with orphan scripts. I've tried to resurrect that save game like maybe three or four different occasions, and it only let me load up the save game one time. After I exited the game and tried to load up the save once more - it would just CTD the whole thing. I was practicing very bad modding habits when I had that save, and in the end I had to let it go. I did not have near as much time with it as you though, mine was like 60+ hours worth of play time. That is why i never play until i'm sure the mod pack works anyway i had a save with around 100 mods where i would add and remove mods but most of them were not script heavy so the save still works perfectly (8 months old with lvl 117 character); mods like SkyRe in the other hand normally don't like when you change a single thing on the load order and saves become really difficult to restore same for script heavy mods like Frostfall and company. Indeed. I suppose, like many of us here, I had to learn that the hard way. Mod Organizer has helped a lot with mod stability testing for me, among other habits I've taken up to ensure things go well. I use Mod Organiser and I store mods with a numbered prefix so that, if I need to reformat, or my HD dies, or whatever, I can recreate precisely the modded environment I'm using at any given time. Mod Organiser allows you to install hundreds of mods in mere minutes without affecting your base install whatsoever. You can see what this looks like here: https://s23.postimg.io/5pwfdsw8r/skyrim_mods2.jpg(this is a very old mod installation so don't try to copy any of the mod orders or combinations in this pic) I've had to do this a few times because I installed or changed something that went horribly wrong and, lacking the knowledge to fix my problem, I've had to nuke everything and reinstall from scratch. (it happened recently with a heavily-modded game of Fallout: New Vegas) The only thing that can be tricky to recreate is custom modifications, for example I had some issues with LoDs so I had to manually delete specific files. You have to document that kind of thing somewhere so that when you reinstall, you remember to repeat those actions accurately. As for ENBs, mostly they don't affect game saves. The only time they could is when you have .esp files that come with the ENB, but even then I'm not certain that they affect the save in any way. I use Grim & Somber ENB and that comes with an .esp. Anyway, I know none of this is particularly helpful for you now, but perhaps it will give you some ideas as to how you can avoid it in the future.
