SpellAndShield
Vampire! I discovered this by accident casting bane of the undead just to see what would happen in a room full of people (plus was excited getting the spell as well, worked hard to get 90+ Restoration). She started burning and running and everyone turned hostile on me. I then cast detect life and lo and behold she did not light up. I tried to find out if there is anything beyond this in terms of quests but it just seems like the court wizard is a vampire without anything more to it. Has anyone else figured out a plot twist involving this?
Vagrant0
Nope, there are a few rumors and bits of idle chatter about it but nothing definite. Probably a remnant of some quests involving vampirism or the curing of some such. Or of joining one of the Vigilant. Probably got scrapped based on time and not wanting to have to re-route any related dialogs, or time.
Freya1997
Just went and tested this myself with the Detect Life spell. Sybille Stentor was the only one who didn't get marked as living.... Interesting, but I've not seen any quests relating to her lil' secret though.
xlr8films
There are others. As I'd mentioned in the tips thread that got started, having Detect Dead works in other ways, such as helping you locate dead bodies. I found a non-random dead guy in the middle of nowhere with an Ebony Bow sitting right next to him. You bet that'll be my 1st stop next character. That said, I've seen farmers and a couple other NPCs that light up as dead, but will have 'normal' dialogue with you. I think it's deliberate. Freya1997
Well she does have a quest about hunting vampires in a cave and her comments about them are rather.... odd. Though it could just be my imagination.
elvin280781
She also says she likes to think shes aged well when you mention how young she looks.
WarKirby3333
yeah she does make comments that kind of hint at it. like when she compares herself to the vampires you've slain, saying they live in filth and she's more civilised. it's not really explained why she sends you after then though. you'd think there was some connection between her and them. xlr8films
Maybe it's kind of like the Skingrad king.... she wants any perceived competition removed.
Stephrodas
An other hint : Once you finish all the quests in Solitude related to the palace, when you go there during the day she's asleep.Says something about a lot of people wanting your blood out there too. But as everybody else here havn't found any quiest related so far. Well that will probably change with DLC or mods
Stratomunchkin
You also get the dialogue option of asking her about the High King's father. She admits that they were very close and that she "brought him up" (IIRC), making her at least 75ish.
