Bcraniehiggs
Hey guys. I recently bought Fallout 4 but I'm getting this error when I try and launch it, after pressing play: https://gyazo.com/064b8863e388e496a7103b810ff1297f I've tried verifying the game cache on steam but that doesn't fix it. Any help would be very appreciated.
JimmyRJump
Seems there's some dll files that went missing during install. Try fixing it through Steam or turn off Godrays in the game's settings...
Bcraniehiggs
Seems there's some dll files that went missing during install. Try fixing it through Steam or turn off Godrays in the game's settings... The problem is when I try and turn off Godrays in the launcher, I turn it off, press ok and quit the options menu, then if I go back onto it it hasn't saved the settings. JimmyRJump
Go to Documents/My Games/Fallout4, open the Fallout.ini file and look for the bNvGodraysEnable= line (under the [Display] header) and add "1" behind that line. Zero is on, one is off... Also make sure that the .ini file is set to Read Only (right-click the file, choose properties and tick the box in front of read only at the bottom under attributes). It prevents the game from making changes to the file.
cossayos
Godrays can't be disabled in the game's settings. They always come back unless you disable them in the ini. But I would try to verify game integrity in steam first. I get application load errors when steam or windows or the game itself does any update. Verifiying is a pain in the butt, but it usually takes care of the issue.
RS13
Yeah, I would absolutely not try to fix that by disabling god rays. You're missing a file, verify through steam or delete and reinstall.
cossayos
Yeah, I would absolutely not try to fix that by disabling god rays. You're missing a file, verify through steam or delete and reinstall. I would suggest verifying first. We're talking about at least 26 Gigs of data here, in case of a reinstall. Also turning off god rays did not work.Steam is required to verify the files, use mods and what not. Buy a legal copy of the game, and this problem will go away.
